The year is 3030, mankind had been through it all. Plague, war, natural disasters, technological advances, and even the destruction of their own home. Under the pressure of human greed their young earth could no longer bare the strain. Humanity then moved their people and what animals they could save into the stars on many vessels they called Arch's. Through their travels they learned they were not alone. Massive beasts flew across the cosmos destroying planets and causing turmoil. They also met many other species of intelligent life that tought them how to be sufficient and protect their Archs with new technology. With the humans ideologies the species came together to begin creating Mecha's. Massive mechanical warriors that trained cadets could use to fight off the planet destroying beasts. Cadets from all over the galaxy would apply and train to one day be able to defend their homes. This is where our story begins.

Deep within the stars floated the 46th Ark. It's once metallic exterior was now built of many different attachments, bunkers, and wings now homing over 30 thousand students, teachers, and other workers of the now massive home of young adults training to protect their homes and the galaxy from the new threat the remainder of the human race called "Kaiju".

A young man in his early 20's walked confidently across the halls of the training facility. His hair was blond and messy, his eyes a sharp crimson, his face cocky and left in a permanent scowl. He wore a black cadet uniform with the name "Bakugou" printed upon the back in Golden letters. He charged towards a tall rounded door with purpose. He stood before it as it opened automatically to let him in. Above him a woman's voice spoke out.

"Welcome, cadet 33946 Katsuki Bakugou. The commander awaits you in office 626."

Bakugou moved towards the end of the room to find the door with a large plaque reading. "Commander Almight." He did not knock but instead just opened the door letting himself in. Inside the room sat a very tall man with broad shoulders and thick toned muscles that could not be hidden by his white uniform. His hair was a sun like yellow and his grin was illuminating.

"Ahah! Young Bakugou, just the cadet I wanted to see!" He spoke with a booming voice.

"Almight sir." Bakugou nodded. "What did you wanna see me for?" It was obvious from the man's tone that the question was rhetorical. He knew exactly what he had been called for but out of respect aloud his idol to speak.

"Take a seat." Almight pointed to the chair as he himself sat down at his desk. When the boy was settled he began to explain his visit. "As you well know you are the top of your class when it comes to physical and mental streangth."

"No surprise there." Bakugou smirked.

"There will be a showing of a new Mecha next month. We want you to pilot her first test run." He went on. "Its a two man Mecha however so you're going to need to find yourself a soul partner. Luckily for you the showing isn't for another 38 days. So let us know when you find someone you work well with and we'll have you two do some practice runs before the showing."

"No sweat sir, I get along with everyone." Bakugou chuckled pridefuly.

Almight raised a brow but decided not to say what he was thinking. "Good, have your partner and yourself report to me a week before the presentation."

"I'll have one long before then." He excused himself from the office.

As he left the office the door closed behind him and his once confident smirk turned into a scowl. Although he was confident in his abilities he wasn't so confident in the ability of a partner.  He began to walk back towards the dorms thinking over his teammates from the program and as he did his mind began to deflate. Creat a soul partnership with those morons? None of them were good enough for him. But this presentation was important, good for his rep, and a chance to have people at elite stations to scout him. So he decided to start with the cadets he hated the least.

He took the elevator to a larger section of the Arch where students and teachers could relax in common rooms that looped around the mess hall. Within the mess a group of students sat at a table together laughing over the training they had just left from.

"I cant believe you broke the Droids!" A young female being with pink skin, cotton candy hair, and golden horns laughed. "Mr. Aizawa was pissed! I've never seen him get so flustered."

"It was an accident!" A yellow haired male protested. "I'm not use to fighting things that are made out of electricity except for my parents!"

"I'd sure hate to get into a pool with you." A tall slender male with black hair and large rounded elbows spoke. "But that being said you're perfect for charging our tabs."

"Thats so meeeean Sero." The yellow haired male whined.

"Awe its okay Kaminari he's just saying you're useful!" The pink female patted his head.

"Hey." Bakugou surprised them standing at the head of the table.

"Bakugou! How did the meeting with Almight go?" Kaminari sat up quickly.

"Don't go asking me questions like ya know me sparky!" He said snipped before letting a wife prideful grin cross his lips. "I'm gonna fly the new Mecha."

"Woah dude thats so rad!" Sero bumped in. "Mina was saying she saw some leaked photos online, she said it looks like a big shark man!"

"And you get to drive it! How cool is that?!" Mina agreed.

"Yeah whatever... I need something." He looked away from them.

"Us?" The hyper one's eyes widened.

"Shut up!" The blond took a seat beside them. "The mecha needs two pilots." He sighed.

"You wanna soul bond with one of us?" Sero backed up.

"My options are limited okay!" He reminded.

"Well I'm down to try." Kaminari raised a hand. "And if we dont work out there's lots of other cadets we can try talking to. See who vibes with ya." He poked the man's arm only to get swatted away.

"Well it'll be pretty easy since most of the cadets already have completed soul bond training. We just gotta eliminate the soul mates and see what we have left." Mina reminded.

"We'll look into it while you and Kaminari go see SACU." Sero nodded.

"Good luck you two." She winked a black and gold eye.

Bakugou lead Kaminari down the class hall until they found a room with the letters "SACU" on the door. Bakugou used his clear tab to unlock the medal door through the reader. It opened up to reveal a dark violet room filled with glass pods. Inside the pods were adjustable seats. Kaminari trotted towards one of the chairs excited to settle in. He pressed his hand against the wall, it clicked and a box of glowing blue wires slipped out. Bakugou took his seat next to the male as they began to place the wires over their temples, chests, backs and hands. Bakugou closed the glass door, when it clicked it lit up like a screen.

"Welcome to the Soul Activation and Connection unit. Please enter your student ID's before beginning." A female voice said presenting two touchscreen keypads. They entered their numbers sitting back to begin the cycle.
