They had a rhythm now. Just three weeks together but they fell into step with ease. Hell, the other day they both choked on their dinner at the same time. It was just so natural. JD could get used to this.
Turk and him had more of a chemistry, sure. But with Elliot it felt different , it felt... easy. Safe even, if that made sense. And yeah sometimes those old pangs come up. But those are easy to brush aside and tuck away with the rest of those no-no subjects he's never been keen on unpacking. And hey, maybe he didn't truly and completely hate every man she brought home anymore. Just most of them. So he'd say that he's doing pretty great emotionally.
Keith, their intern, was her most recent find. He wasn't the worst of them, he'll give him that. But something about him in particular seemed to set him off. He'd say all these grating things all the time like: "Hey JD-!" Or even, god forbid, "How's it goin'?" How's it going ? Well you'd think he'd know at this point how he is. God. Plus have you seen the man? That's reason enough to be agitated.
JD rose to his feet with a huff. Today's his only day off in which he can simply exist unrestricted for a while in the apartment. Elliot and Turk were at work and Rowdy was likely collecting dust in the other apartment. He was completely alone and he refused to spend this valuable time dwelling on the living Ken doll. He checked about himself nervously before flipping through Elliot's CD binder. 7th page, 3rd disc. He smiled and turned on her player.

Elliot jerked awake. Her head was throbbing and she was coated in sweat. "Wha-..?"
She rubbed the crusted spit from the side of her mouth and stretched her aching legs. God. She hadn't slept like that in a long time. It was nice even if it felt like she had died a little.
She was part way through trying to determine which atrocity of an at-home shirt she was going to wear when her ears perked up. A whiny, distant noise kept stealing her attention. At first she thought her neighbor bought a new dog. But on further inspection it was coming from the living room.
Elliot quietly cracked the door open and peaked out. To her glee she found JD, rather than a hurt puppy, making the noises she heard. It took her a moment to recognize the song but the jerky motions of his one free arm trying to recreate the dance made it click for her. The other clung to the vaccuum he was currently dueting Bye, Bye, Bye with.
"-give me one good rEEEason, baby, come on-!" Her friend sang, foot tapping she assumed in attempt to the beat. He wasn't succeeding but there was definitely an effort there. "I~ -live for you and me, and now I've really come to see that-"
"I thought you hated that song?" She smirked at his jolt back into reality. He stayed as still as a statue as the song continued to play without him. Presumably rethinking all his life choices til now. "In the car, when we were moving your stuff in, you said you 'just can't stand mindless, superficial music'. What changed your mind?"
"..." Dorian had two options: He could explain that he had always liked the song. That this song had hit him so hard one night on his way home that he cried(not in a gay way of course. In a very I-fuck-lots-of-women way. Obviously. As if that needed to be stated.) He shook his head dispelling the thought. Or he could lie. "..I don't like this song, Elliot. See.. You're not a man so you wouldn't understand. But as a man sometimes you listen or even watch things you normally wouldn't to better grasp humanity- I'm sorry. I meant to say, to better grasp huWOmanity better. Like woman, Elliot. See what I did there ? That way its easier to make conversation even with the most elusive babes."
"Uhuh.. And why dont I believe that?"
"Because, well-," he turned off his dancing partner. "I don't know. Woman reasons?" JD shrugged with a dismissive wave of his hand.
".. Woman reasons?" She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. JD swallowed nervously and glanced away. At first thoughtful before obviously caught in a fantasy. She hoped he was imaging her kicking his ass. Because atleast then it'd be prophetic.
