“Alright.” Mr Aizawa said from the front of the class. Everyone turned to look at him, most of us were surprised. Usually if we weren’t doing a practical then he was asleep, but if was halfway through the lesson and he was very much awake. “You have midterms coming up in about a week and you will have to prepare, not only physically with your quirk and combat skills but academically because there will also be a writing test, like you did for your entrance exams. I will give you a bit of insight, you’ll be training with a partner against somebody and you have to get your opponents in handcuffs. That is how you win, for the team who were handcuffed we will look at how you approached the situation to determine if you passed or not. This will be timed and you will be paired up with someone who has a quirk that doesn’t work hand in hand with your own. That is all, you may go back to your work.” Mr Aizawa explained and went back to his sleeping bag.
I turned to Kirishima who was sitting behind me. “Damn, I wonder who I’ll be paired with.” I said, “me.” Hitoshi said, turning to us. “I saw the sheets, Dad paired us together because our quirks are opposites…kinda. Anyways, you’re with Asui, Kirishima.” Hitoshi gave some insight to Kirishima. “Oh wow, uh, thanks man.” Kirishima replied with a smile.
“Are we training after school as a BakuSquad + Hitoshi?” I asked. “Hitoshi?” Kirishima asked. “My first name. Me and Denki are on a first name basis.” Hitoshi explained. “Oh, well that’s cool, anyways I don’t know.” Kirishima explained. “I’ll see if I can sort something out.” He said and pulled out his phone and sent texts to the rest of the BakuSquad. They all texted back with different variations of ‘sure’ and ‘where’ and ‘when’.
“Where are we gonna meet?” Kirishima asked. “My place.” Mina said and Kiri put in the texts with the dates and everyone nodded and responded. “All sorted out, are you coming?” Kirishima asked Hitoshi, who turned to me. “I’ll drop by your house and pick you up at two.” I told him and he nodded, we then all got back to work.

“So training or written study first?” Jirou asked. We all sat on the rug in the middle of Mina’s room that she shared with her two sisters. There was a bunk bed on one side and a queen sized bed on the other side. Mina sat leaning against her bed which was the queen sized one.
“I’d say write and then we can go to your house Kaminari cause you have a big section and we’re less likely to disturb the neighbours.” Mina continued. “That’s cool with me.” I said and we began work on the written test. We had what we called a syllabus which had all our exam dates and what we needed to study for each exam written in it.
We were doing that for about an hour and a half before we went to my place and trained. Jumping around and using our quirk, careful to not injure my dog which was running around. I had a Whippet, which is basically a slightly smaller version of a Greyhound. His name was Comet and he was white with a blended tiger pattern on his back, the back of his hind legs and on the top of his head.
“Your dog is adorable.” Hitoshi said, laughing. “Yeah, he’s like what? One and a half.” I explained. We all stopped training and stood there, commenting on my dog. “Why did you name him Comet?” Sero asked. “Let him out the gate and see what happens.” I said and began to walk inside. Comet immediately followed me, hoping I’d give him some food. I walked into the house and into the kitchen and looked over at his food bowl. He had dog roll in the morning and at night and had kibel throughout the day. “Eat your kibel if you're hungry, dopey dog.” I told him as I was fishing through the cups and he was jumping up and down, he thought I had food.
“I swear your dog has ADHD or something.” Jirou sighed. She’d met Comet before and had a 50¥ bet that he had ADHD; like me. “No, he just wants food but he can eat his own.” I explained, looking straight at him. He eventually gave up and I took cups of diluted raspberry  thriftee over to my friends. We sat, drank and talked until they had to go, but Hitoshi was still here. “So…are you staying the night?” I asked. “I want to but I don’t have anything and it’s also a school night so Dad and Papa will say no and if I ignore them then they’ll ground me.” Hitoshi explained.
“Well it’s your choice.” I said and put all the cups in the sink so I could rinse them.  Hitoshi was suddenly by my side and putting stuff I rinsed into the dishwasher. We were silent for a good ten minutes and then I broke that silence. “So…are we gonna talk about earlier at your place?” I asked. “What do you mean?” He asked quietly. “You kissed me.” I reminded him. “Yeah.” He responded.
“I really like you Denki. Like as in more than a friend and I just - You kissed me back that night, why?” He asked. “Why do you think?” I replied. “Do you - “ He started but I kissed him. He kissed me back and we stood in my kitchen like that for a few minutes. We parted when his phone started to ring and he went to grab it. He put it up to his ear. “Mhm, yeah I know... Yes I’m on my way, I’m just leaving Denki’s house… No, because the supermarket isn’t on the way and I don’t want to… Fine, I'll get it tomorrow after school…Bye.” He took the phone away from his ear, hung up and turned towards me.
“It was Dad, he wanted me home.” Hitoshi sighed. I nodded and put my hands on the formica behind me and pulled myself up to sit on the countertop. I swung my legs. “Your Dad is such a cockblocker.” I said, “a what? Oh, I know what you mean, but uh…see you tomorrow.” Hitoshi said and I waved him out the door. I sighed when he left.

I stood in my hero costume in the waiting room of Ground Beta next to Hitoshi. Across from us on the other side of the room was Todoroki and Uraraka. We would be going head to head in a few minutes. I held a pair of handcuffs and so did they.
This was going to be difficult because Todoroki had fire and ice and Hitoshi’s quirk was a hit and a miss because they knew how it worked so we had to find a new way to use it.
I was going over strategies in my head. So far it was somehow using Hitoshi’s quirk with mind to get them into a theoretical corner they couldn’t get out of. Todoroki’s quirk was the main thing that would fuck us over and he had a bit of trouble with close contact which I what I relied on. I leaned over and whispered in Hitoshi’s ear. “Can you do impressions using other people’s voices with your thingy?” I asked. “My voice modificator?” Hitoshi whispered back and I nodded. “Yes, what do you need me to do?”

It was about five minutes later when we finally entered the stadium and me and Hitoshi ran off in one direction before Uraraka and Todoroki could see. The lights around the roof turned green and we ducked into a corner. “We need to split them up, then you need to copy Todoroki’s voice. If we bring him down he can get Uraraka easily.” I explained.
Hitoshi nodded and snuck around a few corners while I got up high and was the hawk basically. Both teams had an intercom system between us so we could communicate. He found Todoroki and hid behind a rock while I could see them both from above, but neither could see me. He nodded at me and I shot a bolt in one direction and Hitoshi said quietly to Uraraka who was at a decently big section away from him and talked to her. She thought It was Todoroki and ran off.
Todoroki didn’t notice me and then Hitoshi mimicked Uraraka’s voice to Todoroki who was confused for a minute, which meant his guard was done and I pointed my arm at his chest and shot out a lightning bolt. Todoroki saw and was about to deflect when Hitoshi called out in Uraraka’s voice. “Help me Todoroki!”
Todoroki who was now slightly off guard turned his head for a second and then turned it back and he was hit with 1.1 million volts. It shocked him and he fell to the ground and Hitoshi jumped out and handcuffed him. A siren sounded meaning that one person was out. I didn’t say who though. Then we headed for Uraraka. Hitoshi once again mimicked Todoroki’s voice and they began talking about strategy.
Then she caught on. “Todoroki, if that was you, you wouldn't be hiding.” She said and I shot another 1.1 million volts at her and Hitoshi jumped out and handcuffed her. The lights turned red and we all left and went back to the waiting room and waited until it was all over. Next was the writing exam - oh shit.
