PS - This takes place after chapter 2 of '2 parallel love stories - part 2'. So the strawhats defeated the soldiers and generals near the auction house who called for back up. The higher ups called Kizaru and Bartholomew Kuma came to fight the worst generation. Zoro had already encountered Bartholomew in Thriller Bark but he suspected that something was kind of unusual. They guessed that this one was fake, as he was able to shoot multiple shockwaves. There were other prototypes of Bartholomew as well who were fighting the rest of the worst generation and they were definitely having a hard time. Now, Zoro has just been struck by Bartholomew by a shockwave and he's injured. On to the story~
"You idiot, what do you think you're doing?!" Sanji exclaimed as Zoro crashed into a pile of rubble. Zoro groaned in pain as he clasped his chest. It felt like a dagger had just stabbed his chest. He fell to the ground, his palms on the ground for support as he tried to stand.
"Hey, Zoro! You got hurt so much that you can't even move?!" Luffy exclaimed as he found the swordsman on the ground. "Forget about him, Luffy! We need to deal with him first!" Sanji called out.
He glanced at Zoro who coughed continuously. 'He hasn't had the chance to fully heal from last time. Just standing up to him must be really painful, judging by the look on his face!' Sanji thought to himself. He was correct. He could read Zoro like a book.
Sanji furrowed his eyebrows as he eyed Bartholomew. "If you ain't Bartholomew, then who are you?!" Sanji exclaimed. All the strawhats ran towards Bartholomew. Zoro coughed on the sword that he had clasped with his teeth as he sprinted towards Bartholomew.
"Zoro, that idiot!" Sanji yelled out. Bartholomew caught Zoro by the hand but was punched several times by a huge Chopper which made him drop Zoro. "Don't be so reckless, you damn marimo!" Sanji shouted. He was concerned about Zoro's physical condition at the moment.
Sanji kicked him with his signature Diable Jambe as Zoro slashed him in his satanic form - 9 style sword Asura. Bartholomew lost balance as he fell to the ground and was crushed by Luffy's giant bone balloon.
"We defeated him!" Chopper exclaimed. "You spoke too soon, raccoon." snickered a voice. The strawhats looked around as they found a fan man whose name was Sentomaru with...another Bartholomew?! Turns out, the Bartholomew they had defeated was 'PX-4', a model look-alike of the actual Bartholomew.
"It's better if we split up, guys!" Luffy yelled. The strawhats agreed as the split into 3 groups and ran in different directions. Zoro's group, which consisted of Usopp and Brook were confronted by Kizaru, the admiral.
Kizaru blasted a beam at Zoro who dropped to the ground, panting. "Zoro!" Luffy exclaimed. Sanji, who heard Luffy's scream, worried about Zoro. 'You better be alive, you shitty swordsman!' Sanji thought to himself as he ran with Nami and Franky.
"He shoots lasers, this ain't good!" Franky pointed at Zoro who was now being stomped on by Kizaru. Usopp and Chopper tried to fight him but he was a logia made out of light so he wasn't injured at all.
"Zoro!" the strawhats called out as the admiral was about to finish off Zoro. Just then, Robin chanted an incantation as arms sprouted from the grass that rolled Zoro towards her. That wasn't going to stop Kizaru though. He teleported and stomped on Zoro again, restraining any sort of movement. Sanji's eyes widened at the thought that he couldn't do anything to save Zoro.
Just when Kizaru was about to finish him off again, Rayleigh skimmed through the air and stopped Kizaru from doing so. "My my, if it isn't 'Dark king' Rayleigh." Kizaru drawled as he backed off.
"Stop troubling the younglings, man." Rayleigh looked down on Kizaru boldly. "That's impossible, I'm afraid or else I will lose face to the people of Mary Jois." Kizaru refused. Using this opportunity, Luffy called out to Usopp.
"USOPP! TAKE ZORO AND RUN AWAY! GUYS, RUN AWAY FOR NOW!" Luffy ordered as he ran away. The strawhats split up once again as Usopp carried Zoro on his back. Bartholomew had eyes on his target - 120 million bounty holder Roronoa Zoro.
Bartholomew stomped towards Zoro. Sanji, who was running parallel to Zoro's team now ran towards Zoro. "Take care of Nami swan, Franky! He's after Usopp's group right now!" Sanji yelled as Franky agreed to do so.
Brook and Usopp were running as fast as they could as they tried to escape the clutches of Bartholomew. Sanji kicked Bartholomew with a Diable Jambe, making him fall on the ground. Usopp tripped and threw Zoro onto the ground.
"Zoro, are you alright, I'm so sorry!" Usopp shrieked as the huge man behind him cracked his knuckles. He was stopped by Sanji who had caught hold off his leg as he tried to restrain his movement but in vain. Luffy, who was watching all of this, was devastated.
Sanji was caught by the neck and thrown on the ground. Chopper chomped on a rubble ball and grew into a massive creature. As he distracted Sentomaru, Usopp tried to wake up Brook and Sanji who had passed out on the ground.
Sanji stirred up after Usopp had woken him up. As his eyes adjusted to the sunlight, he found Zoro on the ground, passed out. He crawled towards the moss haired man who was panting heavily on the ground.
Sanji placed Zoro on his back as he tried to revive him. He slapped his face softly. Didn't work. He found Zoro spurting blood from his mouth. He needed to get the blood out of his mouth. He cupped Zoro in his palms as he sucked up the blood in his mouth and spitted it out.
The motive of this was to remove the blood in Zoro's mouth to prevent it from clotting in his throat, which could restrain his breathing. When Zoro regained his consciousness and started coughing, Sanji tilted Zoro's head to the ground so that he could spit out the excess blood.
"Zoro, are you alright?!" Sanji exclaimed as he wiped the blood dripping from Zoro's mouth. Zoro struggled to keep his eyes open as he tried to sit up straight. Zoro's eyes widened as he found Sanji sitting in front of him.
"Sanji...you're bleeding..." Zoro coughed as Sanji rubbed the blood trickling down his head. "This is nothing. You're severely injured, you have to rest!" Sanji wiped more blood from Zoro's mouth.
"I'll be fine..." Zoro smiled meekly as Sanji kissed him on the lips (like in the picture above). Never in his entire life had he felt so paranoid about losing a close one. He pulled back and wrapped his arm around Zoro's shoulders for supporting him.
Sanji gulped when he looked back. He found Bartholomew, ready to blast a cannon at them. Sanji closed his eyes when he heard a familiar voice. "Stop, PX - 1." ordered the voice. Zoro shuddered in Sanji's arm as he looked up.
"He's the real deal..." Zoro whispered. Sanji nodded slightly as the real Bartholomew walked towards them. Bartholomew was the reason why Zoro was terribly injured in the first place. Back at Thriller Bark, Zoro had fought Bartholomew who was way above his level. To prevent Bartholomew from hurting Luffy, Zoro entered a translucent ball that contained the pain that Luffy had inflicted in his fight. Sanji gasped when he found Zoro standing firm while blood trickled from all parts of his body. "Nothing happened." Zoro said.
"Roronoa, you're still alive." Bartholomew removed his gloves. "With your mercy..." Zoro coughed as he bent down to spit out more blood. He was out of Sanji's arms now. "Tell me, Roronoa. Which island would you go to of all places?" Bartholomew asked.
Zoro caught his chest that stung with pain. Bartholomew struck his hand at Zoro and when his hand passed Zoro's direction, Zoro disappeared into thin air. All the strawhats shivered at the sight of Zoro disappearing. Where did he go? Is he alright? Will we ever get him back? Luffy watched in confusion as Sanji's mind went blank.
"ZORO, YOU DAMN MARIMO!"
AUTHOR'S NOTE - Content taken from episodes 399 - 404 (with some changes). Sorry for not uploading lately. It was my birthday so I had to take care of few things. Also, today is Trafalgar Law's birthday so happy birthday, you emo surgeon of death! The next chapter might have some angst and those who know what's coming...well, time to relive it, I suppose.
