—————————————————————————————————————————————————

(Your birthday) was the day I was born, it was very messy to say the least. Blood was everywhere and there was a screaming and crying woman on her carpeted floor with her husband and three other doctors. I looked like a combination of both the woman and her husband or should I say a combination of both my mother and father. After hours of screaming and crying, I was brought into this world. My birth was rewarded with huge smiles and happy tears. That reaction to my birth made me happy, I was glad to be in this family.

That reaction didn't really last long. We suddenly heard screams of terror and agony, my mother and father looked back to the door and the screaming only got closer and more aggressive like they were getting tortured. My mother and father slowly tip toed to the back of the room near the nearest window while the doctors that cleaned me and the room up pulled out weapons and slowly walked forward towards the door.

In a flash, the door was knocked down and one of the doctors heads flew up into the air. My mother gasped while my father picked her up and ran out the window. I didn't know how to react, cry? scream? I took the opportunity to look around the village, only to see citizens running around with children and adults screaming and crying only to be slaughtered by something. It was the most hideous thing and it will always be. It had five multi-coloured eyes, fangs, miss-matched hair and horns with blood all over them.

My father ran faster to try to escape they horrid beings, only to caught by one. He let go of my mother and yelled "RUN (MOTHERS NAME)." My mother did what she was told to do and legged it. She was balling her eyes out whispering to me that everything is going to be ok and that we will be safe. I wish that happened though, i just wished in my tiny baby brain that everything was alright, but I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable and scared about this situation as most would probably feel. Just wished I wasn't a stupid little nappy shitting idiot and was just useful.

My mother ran for hours and hours, she didn't even stop to have drink or have some food. She just ran till she saw a town or at least a house where she and her newly born child could hide in. She wasn't just tired and sad but angry. Angry that what thought would be the happiest day of her life turned out to be the worst. She never though that this would happen in such a secure and guarded place. She slowed down and took a look at me mumbling a sorry and hugged me tight causing me to silently cry.

She forced herself to keep running, she really didn't want to keep running, her legs were sore and cherry red. She felt like her legs could crumble at any moment in time. She suddenly ran even faster, at first I was confused that was until i recognised the hideous being I saw before we left the village. 'The thing followed me?!' My mother though panicky. I gasped when I suddenly flew into the air and dropped onto the ground.

I whimpered and slowly looked to where my mother and I were last standing only to find her dead and getting devoured by the slobbery and disgusting mutant. I was now fully crying and trying to crawl away. I heard the thing slowly walk towards me, licking its lips and drooling over having desert after having the main coarse. I was ready to be attacked, get my throat slit, get my organs devoured and have my blood as newly made wine.

I didn't feel anything, except a gust of wind flying over me and stray over to the thing. I heard a plop or thump like something fell. I look back to see the things decapitated head staring up at a shadowy figure. My eyes were drawn to where it was looking and looked to where and what it was staring at. Only to see a guy with a sword in his hand. He seemed to be glaring at the hideous thing. I tried crawling over to where he was, only for him to stick his middle finger up at the thing, take a small glance at me and walk away.

Again, I tried crawling towards him because I was in desperate need of assistance, but he just kept walking. I picked up the courage to try and throw something at him. I (barely) through a twig at his arm, but he just kept walking, this time even faster. Wouldn't a normal reaction to seeing a baby crawling up to you with tears in their eyes be to help them? Are people just naturally uncivilised and venomous?

Being a baby, my natural response to being ignored was to cry and whine. That's what I did, I cried and whined to the poor guy for 13 minutes thinking I would finally get his attention. It didn't get his attention, he just kept walking and walking and WALKING. I gave up and plopped on the dirty and smelly ground. Maybe it was better to just have died with my family. I started to crawl back to where I last was, so that I can at least be with my mother (dead or alive) during these hard times.

I finally got to where my mothers body was, only to see people in uniform wrapping her up and walking away with them. 'No!,' I thought. Sadly, I couldn't stop them from taking her body away. I felt lost, sad, confused, and most importantly scared. What's going to happen to me next? Am I just going to starve then rot out here and then get eaten? Before I could think anything else, I blacked out (most likely from thirst or tiredness), I didn't care what was going to happen to me all I wanted was to just lay in my parents arms and cry.

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and foot steps. I looked up and saw that I was in a house, a really neat and pretty house. I was confused on why I was in a house, I was just in the middle of the woods when I suddenly blacked out and then ended up here. Weird. Weird indeed. I realised I had blankets on me and slowly lifted them away from my small form. Curiously, I looked around to analyse my surroundings. It was pretty neat and tidy, it smelt like undies though. Gross.

"Hello, dear" a joyful voice spoke. The calm voice made me jump (more like flinch but let's be more dramatic) and hide under the sheets, terrified about what's going to happen. "No need to be afraid, dear" the voice spoke again. I slowly look up to see a beautiful girl with a butterfly pin in her hair. "You're safe now" she spoke. Her words struck me like I was stabbed, I couldn't help but start crying. I'm safe now. Safe. With a new home. Safe. I'm now safe.
