I don't want to die,

The conclusion of every story is death,

All fairy tales end with: and they lived happily ever after.

But they died eventually, didn't they? Nowhere in those fairy tales did it say that they were immortal,

The Prince Charming,

The Cowardly Lion,

The Damsel in Distress,

The Beast,

The Beauty,

Even the Wicked Witch,

They were all human,

Born to die.

I don't wanna die,

Heaven, hell, reincarnation, seven lives. All myths,

Now don't hate me, I was never an avid believer,

We fool ourselves. Believe if we've done good deeds, paradise awaits us. If not, eternal damnation it is. Or that our soul is reincarnated, seven times, given seven chances to better ourselves,

There has to be a reward at the end of the line, a punishment for your crimes, a do-over. Why else would we be here?

This can't be it,

But if it is? You only get one life, one chance,

Your bones turned to ash,

The end.

Laying here in the pool of my blood,
I want to be foolish,

I want to believe in heaven, hell, reincarnation, seven lives, all of it,

I want my story to end with a happily ever after, not a goodbye,

But when did fate ever care for wants?

I was fated to die,

The blood in my veins is the same as the ones that spewed it on the pavement,

My blood is poison,

No true love's kiss could save me,

Those who love, lie.

My life was a beautiful lie of castles and carriages,

Death, the painful truth, gives way to numbness,

This is it. No happy endings, no wind in our sails,

Darkness seeps in through the cuts on my skin. I wonder,

In this fractured fairytale, which one was I?

The hero or the villain?

Neither,

At the end of the line, I was only human.
