"Look uncle, I'm fine where I'm at," You tell the large man that sat at the other side of the bar.
"You'd get paid more," He points out.
"Only because it'll dangerous, I'm sorry but dangerous is not my middle name. And besides, I prefer calm and mildly exciting," You reply as you clean the glasses. He glances around the near empty bar and stands.
"Then I'll just have to make things a bit chaotic," He decides, starting for the door.
"Eh!? W-wait! Sengoku!!" You feebly call after him. He was already gone. "Dammit!" You sigh, putting up the glasses before turning the bar. "Alright everyone! It's closing time! You don't have to go home but you can't stay here," You tell the remaining customers, gesturing toward the door. They stagger for the door as you get ready to close. Once they were gone you lock the doors then wipe off the tables. You turn to get the broom and mop. Your phone goes off then. "Hello?"
'___, help.... Law hasn't been home in a few days, and he hasn't answered his phone...' Penguin breathes uneasily.
"I'll be there soon," You tell him, changing course for the door.
"Thanks," He sighs before hanging up. You frown as you unlock the door, go out and relock it. You don't pause as you go to your car and get in, swiftly starting it before driving off toward Low Town. You didn't care that you were going over the speed limit, Law was your best friend who preferred person to person conversations over texts or phone calls, so it was normal for him not to call or text you, but he always answers when you call him. The fact that he was missing without your knowledge troubled you greatly.
"If he weren't so damn anti technology...." You grumble, unconsciously speeding up. Within minutes you were at the apartment complex. You swiftly go up the stairs and Penguin opens Law's door for you. "Why do you always hesitate to call me?" You question, grabbing one of Law's shirts and drinking in the scent.
"You know he hates to cause you trouble," Penguin point out as you drop the shirt and sniff around before exiting again.
"Well sometimes that's the only time I get to see him..." You sigh, sniffing at the air outside. "I'll have him back by midnight, probably." You add.
"Thanks, good luck," He says as you get in your car. You give a wave out your opening car window before following Law's scent. Your car speeds through traffic as you follow the freshest sent. It seemed to be leading you to Sabaody Archipelago. You frown, that could mean one thing. Your grip on the wheel tightens, flooring the gas pedal as an unearthly growl escapes your chest.
"I'm coming Law... Just hold on...." You murmur, not slowing as the draw bridge lifts up ahead. You flew over the gap, not letting off the gas as it bounces on the road below, continuing to speed for the groves. You knew where the auction house was so you didn't slow until it came into view. You park and turn off the car before getting out. Sure enough Law's scent was extremely fresh here. You feel your nails sharpen into claws as you stalk toward the building. You'll make this as quick as you can.
"Hold up, this is private auction ma'am, we can not--" The guard didn't get to finish as you flash pass, blood pouring out of his slashed jugular, his fellow guard had the same injury and the both collapse as they try to gasp for air.
"Like I care, I'm here for my bestie," You snort walking into the dark building. You soon can see the stage as one by one, the 'Souless' are sold for their abilities like cattle. You wonder if Law has already been sold, until his scent fills the stage and his slightly beaten form is shoved into the spotlight.
"Here is a rarity! This Souless' ability is rumored to have a special ability that can grant immortality! We'll start the bidding at--"
"Everyone's life," Your voice is heard clearly. Law's head raises as monstrous growl fills the building. The last thing you saw was his smirk before you black out.
