Once, on a hot summer day, the birds were singing, the sun was shining, and I was dropping my brother off at a friends house. Suddenly, a big turtle was in the middle of the road! My mom pulled over the car. "Let's get that turtle out of the road!" Mom said."No mom!" I answered, "that thing is huge!!!""you'll be fine!"So I walked up to the big, nasty, ugly, smelly turtle in awe. I've never seen a turtle that big!
"Pick it up and put it out of the road!" mom said.So I walked up to that big, nasty, ugly, smelly turtle. I got ahold of it. The shell was slimy and gooey, and sticky and just plane old nasty I lifted it up about 2 or 3 inches, and it tried to bite me!!! I dropped the turtle and ran. I saw mom, and I was mad."yeah, i'll be fine!" I said sarcastically
Then we saw a truck come to a stop."Is that a turtle?" the truck guy said."Yup. could you help us get it out of the road?" mom asked."Ok. but be careful, that looks like a snapping turtle!!!" truck guy saidMy mom knows nothing about turtles. All she knows is that turtles are slow, they have shells, and some live in the sea. I bet she doesn't even know they're cold blooded! Then out of the blue, the truck guy had a pole in his hands. Its about 10 feet long. It was perfect for this kind of thing.Getting the turtle out of the road was a riot. I had to direct traffic (the turtle hissed at cars!), people got out of their cars to check it out, and we had 2 brainless people trying to get a 10 pound snapping turtle out of the road. The turtle also smelled to. lt smelled like rotten garbage. PU! Take a shower! The turtle thought the pole was food, so it followed the pole. It slowly walked over to the edge the road, but a van went by, so it followed that. Then it walked over to the edge of the road!!! It probably realized that we were helping it out of the road. YAY!!! We made P.E.T.A proud, but I was still mad at mom.
