That's What Friends Are For
Chase After the Hero Shadow!

At the White House Jerome Wise was standing before the President, holding two newspapers.

"This is great news, Mr. President, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Now you're sure to be reelected!

"I don't know about that..." the president said and Jerome looked surprised. "I'm not the real hero of this story. Look closer."

Jerome saw an image of Shadow on one of the newspapers.

"Huh?" he said and looked at the other images on the newspapers. "Shadoooooow!" he said and switched on the TV. Reports on Shadow are being given. "AAAAAARGH! If we don't act fast, they'll elect Shadow President!"

The President face palmed.

"I'll have to find myself a real job." he said and Jerome stormed up to the his desk.

"We've got to do something right away!"

"Now now, let's not overreact about this. Just stay calm." president said while Jerome paced the floor.

"Think, think... There must be something we can do..." he said and stopped pacing, his expression brightened and pounded his fist into his palm. "Ah, that's it! I know! ... It's a brilliant idea! We'll host a black tie charity ball in celebration of ou recent victory!"

"Yes, but what does a victory celebration do to solve our Shadow problem?"

"We're going to make Shadow the guest of honor! We'll invite the media, get in a couple of photo-ops, that kind of thing." Jerome said then saw the President and Shadow shaking hands in a newspaper image. "It'll be in all the papers, all over the cable news talk shows."

Another shot was shown of several TV screens showing the same image of the President and Shadow shaking hands.

"The President and Shadow - dynamic duo battling together against the forces of oppression."

Then the shot ended.

"Once the voters see that you and Shadow are buddies, your approval rating will go through the roof! There's no way you can lose. Your reelection will be a sure thing! I'll have the staff get started. We'll make sure all the television reporters get personal invitations to the free buffet tent." he said and left the room.

The President slumped over the desk and sighed

Outside Thorndyke Mansion.

"I'm going out for a bit." Shadow said then ran out of the mansion and leapt over the front gate as Chris stepped outside with a letter.

"Hey, Shadow! A letter came for you!" Chris said shocked when he saw who the letter is from. "Ah! It's from the President!"

Later in the Living room Chris, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese were gathered around Chuck, who was reading the letter.

"You are cordially invited to a black-tie charity ball." Chuck said. "Hm, sounds interesting."

"It's addressed to Shadow, but it says right there that he can bring as many friends as he wants!" Chris said.

"Well... Then in that case, I say we dust off our best party duds and make it a date!"

Everyone else cheered.

"I'll bet they'll serve lots of yummy food there. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!" Amy said while her mouth watered as she imaged the food that the party might have." Amy said.

"Me too!" Tails said as Shadow entered the room.

"I'm back." he said.

"Hey, Shadow!" Chris said and ran over to Shadow. "Guess what? You won't believe it. The President's giving a party, and you're invited!"
