My Legs feel like they are made of lead. My body feels as if it is moving two miles per hour, Like I can't get there fast enough. When I scream my voice feels paralyzed in my throat. His name feels like a distant memory.
Flashback- 2 hours ago.
"Lisa come on you lazy bitch!" I heard Shane yell as he walked out to the car. When I walked out Shane was already in the car, I got in and playfully glared at him. He smiled and kissed me on the cheek, " Someone's being a little princess today." I said looking down at my phone.
"I am not a little princess, I'm a big princess!" He cheered using his fake gay voice that always made me laugh. "Oh stop it you," I said playfully hitting his shoulder as he drove.
"Shine bright like a diamond!" Shane sang, well yelled as we continued our pilgrimage down the L.A highway. I laughed and shook my head, he may sound like a bad singer but he's actually really good. I guess it's all in the name of comedy.
"Aw dammit." Shane swore as he pulled up to a red light. "I hate red lights." He groaned leaning back in his seat.
When the light finally turned green Shane pressed his foot on the gas and drove on to the fairly busy road. I bent down to retrieve my purse when I heard the sound of a speeding car. seconds later i heard the sound of crushing metal, I felt the car jerk forward. I looked up as my body jolted forward, Luckily the seat belt stopped me from going the windshield. The whole car started spinning out of control. I looked over at Shane and saw his chest slam against the steering wheel his seat belt jerking him back. Our car stopped when we hit another car head on.
I lifted my head and groaned in pain as I looked over at Shane, He had glass shards speckling different parts of his body, blood had soaked the front of shirt. Panicked, I looked around at the scene before me, People had formed a circle around the accident. By this time the ambulances have already arrived.
"Lisa.." I looked over to see Shane smiling at me, I smiled back at him and took his hand. His smile soon faded as he grasped his stomach and winched leaning his head against the car window.
The paramedics crowded around Shane's side of the car talking and figuring out how to open the now crushed car door. Shane let go of my hand and stuck his hand in his pocket, a few moments later he took out his phone and began typing on it. Confused, I continued to watch him. He slowly lifted his phone against the car window.
The figures crowding Shane's side looked at the phone for a moment, looked at each other. They then proceeded to move to my side of my car and began opening my car door. I looked back over at them that over at Shane, his eyes were closed.
"What are doing, he's more hurt, help him!" I begged as they pulled me out of the car. No more than a couple scratches and bruises I was lucky. When I was safely away from the car they rushed to the drivers side working to get Shane out of the car.
Present time- 2 hours later
I fell to my knees and screamed, remembering was awful, almost painful. The doctors words still buzz around my head like a painful reminder. "Time of death: 14:18" "I'm so sorry." "We did all we could". My head started to hurt. Why did they wait to save him my head screamed.
The phone. I stood up and walked back to where I came. My hands balled into fists, Sadness had turned into anger and pain had turned into grief, I was a girlfriend in mourning. Don't fuck with me now.
"What did it say?" I shouted as I walked up to one of the paramedics who were at the scene. "Excuse me?" She said looking up from a clipboard. "Shane Dawson? My boyfriend, held up his phone before you went to help him, What did the phone say? Why did you stop!" I said gritting my teeth.
She picked up a plastic bag that had Shane's phone inside it. She opened it and grabbed the phone and held it out to me, "Look for yourself." I glanced at her and gently took the phone. A device that was once new, shiny and clean, was now cracked and dulled
I clicked the home button and unlocked the phone.
The notes app was open and the words "Save Her First" were typed across the screen.
