After college, I came right back to Hawkins. I mean I could've moved back to California and moved back with my dad but I didn't want to leave my mom. I got a job at a diner. I don't mind it at all. I make good money and it's enough to pay my rent for my apartment. I was approaching another table and I was about to ask for this person's order.

Max - "Good morning, may I take your - Erica?"

Erica - "Max?"

Max - "Oh my God, it's so awesome to see you again!"

Erica - "It's awesome to see you again, too, Redhead. (Chuckle) Obviously, I didn't expect to see you as a waitress."

Max - "Well, obviously, I never expected to see you in Hawkins again. Did you just move back?"

Erica - "Uh, yeah but it's just me and Lucas. Our parents stayed back in Oregon."

Max - "Oh OK. Well, where's Lucas?"

Erica - "Um, do you want to talk outside?"

Max - "Okay."

I told my boss I was going on a short break and me and Erica went outside.

Max - "Erica, what's wrong? Is Lucas okay?"

Erica - "Max, when we moved, Lucas wasn't himself. He fell into a deep depression and he tried to kill himself."

Max - "HE DID WHAT?!"

Erica - "Max, listen! After you broke up with him, he was really torn and when we moved away he was more torn apart. Me and my parents did everything we could to make him happy again but we couldn't. I think you're the only one that can make him happy again."

After what I just heard from Erica, I fell to my knees and I cried.
