The Game Changing Boom

Chap 1

Somewhere in Syria (?).

Hetty ran into her bedroom, panting and clutching her chest, reeking of smoke and her ears still partly ringing, trying to process just what the living hell had just happened.

She and Zasha were at an abandoned school for a meeting. Then the whole thing turned into a freak ambush that Hetty was definitely lucky to escape from with her life! Zasha unfortunately, wasn't so lucky.

Details of what happened were blurry, but there was a massive fire that was caused by a huge explosion. How Hetty managed to get out of there alive, even she was still wondering that.

'Hey, I heard what happened. Are you okay?' Keane asked, concerned.

Hetty was still panting.

'Whoa, whoa. Calm down! You're okay.'

'It's not me that I'm worried about. She was sent here to look after me! Mr. Callen has no way of keeping track of me now!' Hetty fastily stuttered.

'You're worried that he might think you were killed alongside her?'

'I'm worried, (lets out a big exhale), I'm worried he may decide to come out here himself, he's that protective of me.'

'Shouldn't that be a good thing? We can't keep silent on this mission forever if it's lasted this long.' Keane pointed out.

'Keane, we've been silent throughout this mission for 1 reason: It's too dangerous! My people would be put in danger if they knew the real details of this! I don't want any of them getting hurt because of this.' Hetty replied, very seriously.

'Even if you end up getting killed? You can't keep fighting alone just because you don't want to risk lives of trained agents who you know care very deeply about you!'

'Mr. Callen already thinks I only cared about him because I wanted a trained killer! If he wants me to come home, it'll be because he wants answers from me. And everyone else has probably forgotten about me and moved on to Hollace. They probably don't even think about me anymore.'

'Would you quit feeling like you don't matter and get a grip on yourself, Henrietta?! If there's 1 thing I know about your team, it's that they love you deeply, and will walk through fire to save you if they must! And you know that info Callen found is nothing but a farce! How about you quit feeling like you have to fight alone and see that you are not alone?!' Keane shouted, frustrated at Hetty's bullheadness.

Silence.

Uncomfortable by what he said. 'I, um. I probably could've reworded all that.'

'I, I need time to think. Please leave me be for now. ' Hetty softly replied.

Later.

After what felt like an hour, Hetty emerged from her bedroom.

'You're right. I know I'm not alone in life. However, I believe in fighting my own battles and not involving anyone unless I know I have to. That being said, I made a little something.' She reached in her pocket and pulled out a brooch with a thumb drive attached to it. 'A video is included with this. I made several copies, and are attached to several more brooches. If I am captured, or you fear I have been captured, or if the very worst case scenario happens. You are to hook this up and send the attached video to OPS. Understand?' Hetty sternly asked.

'Yes. Just hope you know what you're doing.' Keane replied.

'That makes 2 of us.' Hetty thought.

Keane went off with the note, and prepared to send the body back to where it could be identified.

Hetty may had seemed cool and collected when she talked to Keane, but inside of her, and what she was feeling when she made that video, she was barely keeping herself from a full blown emotional breakdown. In fact, she felt she was silently panicking while she was making the video! This very long mission had taken a terrible turn, and now, it may not end in the peaceful-ish way that she wanted it to go.

All she could do now, was pray that it would all work out in the end, and without any of her loved ones dying.

Endnote: I based all this off of the few spoilers that I've obtained related to Hetty from the premiere. While I have no idea who the dead body found will be, Callen will definitely be impacted by whoever it'll be! The ambush bit was based off of the only Sneak Peak I watched, and it describes 1 fiery ambush! (Hetty is such a badass, but this kind of off screen craziness tends to worry me a bit.) (Especially when I'd rather see then hear.)
