Prologue

Chasing Faith

Prologue -

She stood in front of her childhood home, not sure what to think.

The paint was chipping and the fence was broken in several places. She slowly moved around the house trying to find the courage to enter. Every room had a memory, both bad and good though the bad tended to overwhelm her. She took a deep breath and opened the back door easily. It had been years since anyone lived in this house. The house where her teenage years were taken from her, yet it was the only place she had ever called home. She moved slowly through every room trying to remember the good, blocking out the bad.

The last room she went to was the garage. This was the most difficult for her. She felt a tear run down her face as she opened the door. It was dark and empty. Slowly she walked to the spot where her father and mother had knelt before her and told her the news. She felt sobs shake her as she knelt in the exact spot. She stayed there for a moment feeling all her emotions build. There was pain and fear and joy all combined... she allowed herself to feel them all... and she prayed.

"Forgive them. But thank you, thank you for allowing me to survive. Because of that I've got courage and if this is a test, please go easy on me. I will forever try to help others in need and thank you for the gifts you've blessed me with..."

She stood for a few seconds smiling and then left, leaving the lonely house silent and empty once again.

It was almost like a scene from a film as she walked out of the airport. But Deep inside the irrational voice that liked to pop up now and again chatted away.

Everyone's staring.. they all know!! Well who wouldn't it's rather obvious isn't it.

Shaking her head, Faith felt the whisper of a smile on her lips, she spotted the big stretch of blue in the horizon; the inner voice had silenced as well as thoughts of any kind. A new life full of endless possibilities awaited her... deep, blue and endless...

So.. firstly I'm real sorry for not updating anything for four months and leaving everyone hanging. Life has been so busy, full of holidays, work, family and personal things but mostly I just didn't have any motivation... Ideas plenty! Just when it came to writing it all down, nothing would translate. But this particular idea did come to me and it sparked a story!! So hopefully now, with this new idea and a lot of motivation for this story AND my others... Which takes me to my next order of business... telling you lot that are hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) still with me that characters from my Fire and Rain series may or may not appear in this so look out for that in both fics. Sorry again for the enormous wait.. and hello to some new readers that I've noticed in my notifications recently. Hello!! I hope you all enjoy this one too...
