First of all, what is an airfryer? It is a countertop convection oven. So it's like a basic oven but more handy and not bulky. By means of electricity, the machine cooks the food by blowing hot air around it. It has a basket with holder and basket case that catches oil and crumbs from the food you cook, has a temperature knob, timer knob and handle. Some brands even have a LED display.
Gladly, someone just gifted me an airfryer so I'm gonna demonstrate to you how to use it.
First of all, I am a lazy person - that lives alone(well, I'm not sorry that I am, it's better to be lazy, at least I'm not tired). Luckily, I have found the easiest way for me to cook food. Tadaaa -- the airfryer. You can pop food in the basket, with or without oil, it's up to you. But if you're gonna use oil, just spray or brush a small amount. And just like the basic oven, don't forget to pre-heat. Set the desired time and temp, and just check if it's done. Yes, you can open the basket to check your food, it will not harm the machine, it will just decrease temp once you open so don't let it unlatched for too long. You can flip your food or shake it (for fries and pickfoods) because air in the upper side is hotter. You can google for the time and temperature of certain foods, so you don't have to experiment. Once the food is cooked, voila! It's ready to eat, no more other preparations other than making the sauce and dip. So easy right?
Last week, I cooked fried chicken on my airfyer. I coated it with the breading mix (which is widely available in the Philippines) and sprayed little amount of oil to avoid dryness. The total time is 45mins. 30minutes then flip, cook again for 15minutes using 180°C temp. The result is a super crispy fried chicken. It was not dry, it tasted like a real deep-fried chicken. The best part is, I can do other tasks while I cook my food. I recommend it for busy moms and to our grannies out there. This machine is what you need. Cooking in it is effortless and easy. You can even roast a whole chicken or a slab of meat, as long as it fits the basket. I've cooked egg (the sunny one) and cupcakes as well.
Since I've shared to you how to use it, I also need to tell some precautions to safely use it. As I've mentioned earlier, don't forget to pre-heat to achieve the desired cooking time. Also, the basket should be cleansed once it is cool enough after cooking. The material is dishwashing-safe that you can even soak it for a while before washing. And don't let the fryer accumulate oil in its basket, the oil steam can harm the upper part of the machine. As for the containers, use silicone molds, metal molds, and for glass molds, check the manufacturer's details first. Lastly, use of extension cord is not recommended to avoid short circuits and electrical hazzard.
Now that you have read all the wonders of the airfryer, I'm sure you're now excited to buy one. And as for the new users who just got it, let us start cooking now while being productive.
