She was lying in bed with her arms and legs spread out like a starfish. She was staring at the cealling listening to her parents bickering. They were having another argument. Each time one would raise their voice the other one would do so too but only louder.
Emily had heard so many of their arguments that she lost track of how many they had. Sometimes she would hear the crashing of a vase hitting the ground or hole being punched into a wall but she was so used to it that she couldnt care less. However on this particular night she would run away into a magical world where there was never any holes in walls or broken vases in need of fixing.
She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes. She started to block out every feeling, every thought, and every sound. Then she slowly opened her eyes. She looked around her room as the walls started turning into stone and her jammies turned into an elegant, pink silk, nightgown. Her bedroom doubled in size and her bed turned into a fancy soft cotten filled bed. On the dresser was a candle in a candle holder and a note that said "Good Morning Princess".
She looked out the windo and saw a great big feild, horse stables, a beautyful garden, and a great big Village.
Thats when Emily was sure that she became a princess in midevil times.
She grabed the candle and slowly opened up the great big door. There were two gaurds right outside the door. They were like big boulders.
"Excuse me" Emily said politly.
One guard turned around and bowed down while the other one kept watch.
"Princess the king ordered that you go to bed." The gaurd replied.
"Yes indeed. However I only need to go pee."
"Yes Princess" he said and then wispered something to the other guard and walked away.
"What's your name?" Emily asked the guard.
"Joseph Henry Smith" the guard replied not turning around.
"Why don't you turn to face me?"
"Because it is my duty to make sure no harm comes to you and that you dont run away."
Then the other gaurd came back with a woman by him.
"Follow me princess" said the woman.
Emily followed her to a tiny room that had a sitting place and there was a hole in the middle of the sitting place.
"Right in there princess" the woman said with a curtsy.
Emily curtsyed back and went into the bath room.
She stood by the door listening to see if the woman would go away.
Finally she got called into clean the dirty rags. This was Emily's chance. She opened the door just a crack to see if anyone was still there. All clear. Then she tiped toed out past the gaurds all the ay to the stables. While she was running into the stables she rain right in to a boy. He was probably like two years older than her.
"Princess!" He said bowing down kissing her hand.
"I wasn't stealing anything! I swear! It's that your horses are so beautiful and i was just simply feeding one am apple."
"Nevermind that. Which horse do you recomend is best for me?"
"Well I recomend that white horse over there" the boy said pointing at the far end of the stable.
"Thanks!" Emily said running down to the horse. Then the sound of gaurds marching down was heard. Emily quickly got onto the horse without a sattle and started off when the boy stopped her.
"Princess! The gaurds are comming what do I do?"
Tell them that Imsent you here. Use this as your evidence." She tore off the end of her night gown and tossed it to the boy. Then she ran off into the cold bitter night. "My name is Peter!" The boy shouted out.
Emily was galloping into a forest when all of a sudden she couldnt controll the horse and ran right in to a tree. She quickly closed her eyes and opened them up to find that her room door was flung open and her mother marching towards her picking her up. Her dad was still yelling. His face was bright red. "Come on Emily. We are leaving this house. Forever." Her mom wispered. And Emily got up and followed her mother out of the room with her dad throwing things to the ground and using curse words.
