Halle's POV
We all climbed into Bee's car after Bee and I took care of Jeremy and his goons. Bee and Cole in the back and me in the backseat.
On our way back home, Bee asked us, "Hey, so tell me how's the folks?"
"Better, I think." Cole answers.
"Hotel therapy's working?" Bee asks with a suggestive smirk, causing both Cole and I to chuckle. Cole's chuckle was more nervous than amused like mine.
"No, come on, it's great." Bee says with a chuckle.
"I mean, they're happy, the three of us get to hang out, and I get paid." Bee says with a light laugh.
"I'm like your little prodicent." Cole said, causing Bee and I to snicker.
"What?" Bee asks, still snickering.
"Cause, like, you have to get paid to hang out with me." Cole says, chuckling nervously.
"I think you mean prostitute, Cole." I say chuckling on the outside and mortified for my brother on the inside.
"Oh my god! No! That would make ME the prostitute and your parents the clients. That's a terrible analogy!" Bee exclaims.
"Worst one ever!" I say, adding my 2 cents in.
"Oh.." Cole says, embarrassed.
"Besides, I'd want to hang out with you guys either way." Bee said with a fond smile on her face.
"Really?" Cole asks, vulnerability filling his eyes.
"100%, I mean I got two years tops before you are too old for me, Cole, and Halle is already cooler than me." Bee says.
"Oh, I've always been cooler than you, Bee." I say, causing both Cole and Bee to laugh.
"And I'll never be too cool for you." Cole says once he stopped laughing.
As Bee pulls up in front of our home's driveway, we see a pile of old pieces of wood on the front lawn. "Hey, isn't that the roof to your old tree house?" Bee asks.
"Yeah we just started taking it down. I--I don't care. I mean, my, uh. Tree houses are for little kids anyway." Cole stutters out.
"Well, there were a lot of good memories in there, right." Bee says to Cole, causing him to nod.
"Alright, tomorrow night, you, Halle, me, party." Bee says with a smile.
"Sounds good." Cole and I say with a smile.
I look at Cole to see him staring at her chest as she reaches for a water bottle in the back. I whack him on the back of his head, and he remove his gaze from Bee's chest before she could notice, rubbing the sore spot on the back of his head.
I start to get out of the car, but Bee stops me. "WAIT! E.T. fingers! We all pressed our pointer fingers together and made a buzzing noise. Cole and I got out of the car. Cole's door creaks as he open and closes it.
"You've gotta get that door fixed." Cole tells Bee. "Hey! You're still giving this to me right?" Cole asks as he moves to stand beside me on the sidewalk in front of our house.
"100%" Bee answers him.
"Can't have a sticky door on my car." Cole tells her.
"Bye guys!" Bee yells before driving away. Cole and I wave goodbye to her. I head up to our room while Cole heads into the kitchen for his afternoon snack and to prepare himself for his driving lesson with dad later.
Her side of their bedroom : (minus the dog)
After a few hours of reading on my bed, Cole came into our room and asked me if I would binge watch Mad Men with him. I agreed and we curled up together on his bed and stayed up all night watching it together.
Cole eventually leaves to go to school, but I go to bed so I can get some sleep before Bee comes over tonight. I'm a straight A honor student. I can afford to skip a day of school.
