Here's the first chapter of a new story. Enjoy!
A TV screen turns on the darkness.
It started in Japan with a young newborn girl, in her crib she began to glow brightly like a star in the night sky.
The screen shows a hospital camera feed of a baby girl suddenly starting glowing brightly, waking up the other babies around her.
This was the first recorded event of Quirks, a DNA mutation that allows a person to be born with extraordinary abilities. However, while Quirks can be found in both genders, they are strongest in females, an example would be a male's Quirk to create rotation in an object is no stronger than a power drill, sometimes even weaker. While a woman with a similar quirk can make a deadly weapon.
The screen changes to show a man making a screw slowly turn into a wall. It changes again to show a woman practically creating a small tornado with the same kind of Quirk.
This caused a flip in "Gender in the Workplace '' ideals, women took over a majority of jobs especially in the police force and other life-saving jobs while males stayed as common jobs replacing the need for power tools and common household appliances.
The screen changes to show a man using an impact quirk to shoot in rivets.
Quirks evolved further as the years passed on but they remained strongest in Females, with Males remaining the same. This led to problems with Gender Equality, women that would preach about gender equality were now beating down men who were weaker than them. Showing clear abuse of power that should be used responsibly.
The screen shows a video of a woman suddenly shooting a male waiter down with large chunks of ice created from her hand before running off, leaving an unpaid bill behind.
This wasn't helped by the start of Quirkless, males born without Quirks. Which leads to many Quirkless becoming homeless and jobless, why take a Quirkless when you could have someone with a Quirk? That leads to either high Male Non-Quirk crime rates, abandoned and orphaned Quirkless, homeless Quirkless boys, or high young male suicide rates either from abuse or neglect from their parents, mainly from the mother.
The screen changes to show a video feed of a young boy, probably not even 10 years old yet, at the top of the Space Needle, with unwashed hair and clothes, staring down at the ground below... Before leaping over the safety rails to the ground far far below. People screamed and a few women tried to use their Quirks to save him. The screen then shows a newspaper cover showing the scene of the same young man, flattened like paste on the ground, next to a picture of a woman being arrested.
Following this, male scientists facing abuse and sexism in the workplace invented a drug that greatly amplified a Quirk. This led to the Super Villains' Age, drugged-up men and bad women wearing costumes and committing crimes for whatever reason.
The screen shows a bank camera feed of a man in a fire-themed costume injecting himself with something and suddenly spewing jets of fire from his body. He then went into the bank and began attacking people.
But that's also what caused the Heroine's Age, women young and old taking on these villains and saving the day like comic book heroes, or heroines in this case. Heroines were made official protectors of peace around the world, they are paid and merch about them was made, some even make companies or help show off products. Heroines were even ranked based on how strong they are or how well they do. Making being a Heroine a real job.
The screen then changes to show a woman in a tight costume being cheered on as another woman in a costume, beaten and bruised, was being taken away by police.
