Side Chapter 0.1 - Kid's meal

[ ... ]

"So, How's the food?"

The man asked as he ate his fries

"Brother, this is the fifty-fifth time you had bought me a Kid's meal. You do know i am older than you, right?"

The phone spoke as the girl in front of him frowned while taking a small bite of the burger

"Hey, You pointed at it, besides. Gotta make it worth it. It's not everyday i come back with enough money for us to go out here and eat you know?"

The two of them continued talking as they ate on wacdonalds With a smile on their faces

"You know sis, One day I'll find a job that fetches more money, so you dont have to be wrapped up like a tortilla every time we go to sleep" He said with a smile as he kept on nibbling the same fries, His sister looked at him with shock "Tortilla???"

He nods and grabs another fry to hang in his mouth "Yeah! You know...you roll around too much, you wake up to find yourself trapped in the cloth"

She quickly pouted and kicked him on his leg, causing him to let go of the fries in his mouth and slam his face on the table "Ow! The hell was that for, sis?!" She only turned her face away from him as he rubbed his leg "ow... Damn that hurts, jeez..." He muttered loud enough for his sister to hear

Feeling bad and worried she might had actually injured him, she quickly looked down at his legs to see if he was really injure-

"Juuuust kidding~"

Another pout, Another kick

"Ow! Damnit you almost hit my hands too..."

He rubbed his other leg as the girl looked away while biting her burger "Alright alright, I won't do it again" he sighs before standing up "ow... I'm going to the bathroom. Eat up, 'kay?" He asked, although not getting an answer from her

He sighed and walked towards the restroom, leaving the girl alone with their food.

She looked back at the table and stole one of his fries from his plate as she kept her pouting face, Her brother has been treating her like this ever since they moved to lungmen. While it is very nice of him to do so...

She let out a quiet sigh and grabbed a handful of fries and stuffed it in her mouth

'Could he just stop buying the kids meal and buy me the fries as well?!'

She asked herself in her thoughts and nodded once again,  Once she finds a way to earn income, Then she'll be the one who will repeatedly buy him the kid's meal as a lesson!

She quickly glanced at the window to look at the shining light from the sun-

She quietly looked at a kid who was leaning on the window. The kid seemed to be tired... And weak... His clothes were just rags, and his hair was messy. There's no doubt, This is just a random kid who was homeless

She kept looking at the kid before standing up and grabbing the small Package that came along with her burger and went outside the restaurant. She slowly crouched near the kid and poked his shoulder

The kid weakly looked at her with eyes that seemed to have given up on life "...W-what do you want...?" His ears that rested on top of his head twitched. She placed the box down and patted him while giving him a sweet smile, The kid took a few minutes to realize before tearing up "T-t-thank... T-thank you so much.... I-"

She swiftly gestured him to be quiet and gave him a thumbs up before turning around and walking back to the restaurant

She took her seat once again and looked at the window, seeing the kid happily eat the content of the box quickly made her smile before spraying her hand with alcohol

A few people were giving her glances and quiet, but hearable murmurs began to circulate around the restaurant, She didn't mind.

Specifically, She didn't care. She was in their state once, So the best she could do was at least give him a little help. Just like her little brother...

"Sorry I took long, my stomach was aching for a while but im all good now- ...The kids meal wasn't enough for you?!?"

She found herself staring at while eating the remaining fries that his brother had left on his plate, They had a small staring contest before she scratched her cheek and playfully gestured that sweet 'teehee, my bad'

"... We're ordering take outs from now on"

She sighed, but nodded in agreement nonetheless. She can't speak against her brother after all...

"Welp, Let's go. Nothing i can do about it"

Another nod, and she stood up from her seat to follow her brother out of the restaurant

She quickly glanced at the kid who was still crying in happiness, before looking forward at the direction they were going

"You know... If your just going to give away your food, then atleast you could had told me to buy two kids meal so you don't steal my fries..."

She froze on her tracks as her brother gave her a raised eyebrow "No matter how much you give them food, There wont be changing the fact that they're just a random homeless guy that everyone's going to pity. They need something more than just food. Clothes, House... Just to be alive" He said before fully turning around and patting her

"That's what people say, But i think they need a bit of hope and the strength to carry on. And you gave the kid that, Good job sis"

She smiled and closed her eyes, Her brother was always and will forever be an understanding person for her...

"I still think you should had told me to buy two instead of one though- Ack?!"

She didn't even open her eyes as her body instinctively delivered a punch straight to his guts

Woah it's a side story!

That's right! From now on, Each Chapter breaks will be replaced by a side story! Wahahahahaah!

These will mostly be short, and would be good enough for me to plant the pipe bomb in your mai-

N-nothing! It should be good enough to keep you satisfied while i write the next chapter! Ahahaha...

W-what? Why are you giving me that look? Im working on the next chapter! For real! This is just to keep you entertained while you wait!
