The weekend went by in a blur and then it was back to school. Eloise got ready, clipping her curls back and walking outside looking perfectly kept and neat. Tristan watched as she walked from her doorway to his car, admiring each stride she took and how when she got in the car, her skirt slid up, revealing her thigh a little. His eyes averted as soon as her sight fell into line with his and she said, "My eyes are up here, pretty boy."

Tristan let out a little grin, "You think I'm pretty?"

Eloise stopped in her tracks and moved her eyes along the words and said, almost sounding the slightest bit offended, "It's an expression."

"Mhm..." Tristan said with a smile as her cheeks started to turn a light red. Eloise looked up at him staring at her, "Are you gonna drive or are you gonna keep looking at me like a dog looks at food?"

Tristan put the car into drive and said, "A dog looking at food?" Eloise looked at him and then at the road and said, "Yeah, like how dogs drool over what they are about to eat. Have you not seen that happen?" Tristan turned slightly red at the acknowledgement of the accusation and said, rushed, "I'm not drooling, I'm simply admiring your slight beauty today."

"Slight beauty? That's not a thing."

"It is so a thing, you look better today than every other day that I've known you." He said, sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes and he slightly smiled at this, amused at the reaction he was getting from her. "It's either someone's beautiful or not, slight beauty is like slight building. You can't have half of a building.", she said, matter-of-factly.

"You look beautiful, Eloise. That's what I'm saying, you look nice." he said, gently.

"Hm! That's all you had to say instead of making me drill the meaning out of you," Eloise stopped as a car was inching closer to them as Tristan quickly crossed a road without stopping at the stop sign longer, "Tristan, I'd like to at least celebrate my 21st birthday, so drive correctly."

"There's no correct way to drive, smartass." he says, slowing the pace.

"I need to visit the principal before class." Eloise says, firmly states then looks out the window. "Can I come?" Tristan asks. Eloise looks from the window to her watch and then to his eyes, which had already been on her. "It's not much of something that concerns you, but sure, I just want to bring in a future late pass."

"Future late pass? I didn't know that was a thing."

"I have a commitment in the future, and I'll be late maybe tomorrow." she said, looking back out the window, trying to get him off the topic of why she would be. It was a doctor's appointment for her dad, he wasn't taking his medication and all Eloise could do was try to get him to listen to someone.

Tristan quickly picked up that she didn't want to be asked anymore on it, and looked at the school's parking lot, finding his usual spot and parking.

Tristan and Eloise got out, Eloise sped walked to the entrance and Tristan ran ahead of her to the doors and walked inside, holding the door behind him for Eloise. He turned his body to face Eloise and began walking backwards, keeping his eyes on her. His veiny hands moved down the hem of his sweater to reduce the appearance of the wrinkles it had, he then brought them up to adjust his collar. Eloise watched his hand move along his body and then looked back up to his face to see him smirking.

Eloise cleared her throat and stopped at her locker to put some books back. Tristan held onto the door and said, "Do you think Gilmore likes me?"

Eloise looked from her books to him, his face was close, and replied, "I don't know.", trying to sound annoyed by what he said but instead her response sounded kind of defensive. He let out a soft and breathy laugh and then moved closer to her.

He now somewhat hovered over her and said, "You and I should study together again today, to like refresh the juices and get my brain working, don't you think?" He now bent down to her eye level to catch her averted attention.

Eloise closed her locker and started walking, he ran in front of her to stop her again, this time letting a silence fall and his eyes just roamed her face, waiting for her answer.

"I don't know if I'm free." she said, moving to his left to continue walking.

Tristan moved himself as well, and again blocked her path. Eloise glared up at him and spat out, "Stop being an asshole and get out of my way."

He winced slightly and said, "I'd never be an asshole to you, Berlin sure, but you? You, Eloise, never." He said this with sincerity and Eloise took that chance to move around him as her face flushed. "Eloise...", he whined, walking behind her, "I know you're schedule like the back of my hand and after school you're free until 5, then you're free again at 8."

Eloise shook her head at how keen he was to her schedule and said, "Instead of worrying about my schedule, study, you're smart without me, you know."

They were a hallway away from the principal's office and he said, "I don't want to do it myself, I wanna study with you."

He ran to her side now and a grin plastered against her admirable features.

"You know you love me too much to tell me no."he says teasingly, his eyes never leaving her, waiting for her to say something.

Eloise rolled her eyes and said "Whatever rows your boat, Tristan." She smiled as he smiled and walked faster towards the entrance of the office of the receptionist. As if expecting her to have already reached him, he scrunched his face and said, "And you call me the slow walker?"

Eloise hurried up so that she was there and not to her surprise, the receptionist was on the phone, motioning to the chairs where we'd have to wait. Tristan walked over to a seat and Eloise chose the seat furthest from him. She put her bag to the floor and opened her book.

Tristan cleared his throat loudly, catching the attention of Eloise. He patted the seat next to him but Eloise ignored him, returning her gaze to the book. Within a matter of seconds, he was right next to her, his thigh touching her bare thigh and his arm relaxed on the armrest that Eloise put her weight on.

Eloise looked up at him to find him with that same childish grin he has had since 4th grade, causing Eloise to return it.

The receptionist looks over to see Tristan first and says, "Mr. Dugray, I hope you aren't here to ask for an excuse out of math because of your unfortunate illness to numbers."

"Hey, don't make fun of it. It's a real thing, but it's usually like temporary then gone then temporary again. So don't worry, I'm good today." Tristan said.

Eloise laughed at this and the receptionist laid her eyes on her, "And what can I help you with Ms. Irvine?"

"A late pass slip for tomorrow. I won't be gone long." Eloise said.

The receptionist nodded her head and handed her the slip. "Thank you." Eloise muttered then walked out, she skimmed her seat for her bag but was tapped on the shoulder by Tristan already holding it.

"So yes to studying? I can do 8." he said.

Eloise looked at him and replied, "Fine, but we actually need to study a lot."

"We always do." Tristan replied, walking over to his locker which was now crowded. Eloise narrowed her eyes and said, "Yeah right, we end up doing some other stuff."
