Lily sat on a rock a solid sixty paces away from camp. Charming had given a big hero speech about how Hook and Lily had saved his life, which was of course caked with another lie, but this time she understood why. The last thing she wanted to do was explain to the rest of them how she wouldn't be returning to Storybrooke. However, the last thing she felt like doing was celebrating, so here she was.

As she twirled a dagger between her fingers, she let her mind wander. Why her? Peter had made it very clear that he was someone different now, and that he liked it that way. All he had done since she got back was screw with her. None of it was real, it was all a game. Not to mention, David would have made much better leverage than she would.

"Careful, now." Peter's voice came from behind, causing her to jump. "Wouldn't want to have to clean another wound from those perfect fingers."

She stood, and turned to face him.

"Pan..." She looked at him with almost curiosity.

He groaned and rolled his eyes as he stepped closer.

"When are you going to drop the act, love?"

Even though her insides squirmed at the nickname, not to mention his proximity, she shook her head and placed her hands on his chest. It was meant to be a preventative measure to keep her head straight, but she could feel his warm body beneath his clothing and it only made her heart beat faster.

"You don't get to call me that anymore, Peter. I left." At the reminder, his grip on her waist tightened. "You have done nothing but poke and prod and manipulate since I got back. Excuse me if I don't understand your intentions in keeping me here."

"You don't understand?" He walked forward, his hands still on her waist and backed her against a tree. "You don't understand? I spent twenty eight years tracking you down. Sending scouts, using all the magic at my fingertips and you don't understand why I want you to stay?"

His words held sincerity but his tone held venom.

Lily froze, absolutely gobsmacked at what he had just said. He'd been looking for her? This wasn't a game?

Peter looked as if a limb was being torn from his body, but he continued on.

"The day you left something inside me died. When I had said that the Peter Pan you knew was gone, I meant it. You ran through that portal, and I became something that you would despise. If you were gone..." His lips neared hers. "Why should I even try?"

They both stood there, achingly close, glancing between each other's lips and eyes.

"Ask the question, Peter." Lily whispered.

"Why did you leave me, Tiger?" His voice cracked and she was pretty sure her heart shattered at that point.

This was the Peter she knew.

Holding back the tears that were fighting so hard to escape, she answered his question.

"Ordjo." She referred to his shadow. "Y-you were talking to him in the treehouse. You didn't know I was coming up the latter. He said I was distracting you..." a single tear slipped out. "You called me a starving little orphan, and said I meant nothing to you. After finding a place that finally felt like home... you took it away. Just like that."

She was breathing hard in a desperate attempt to keep from crying and she had to practically force herself to look into his eyes. Rather than regret, which is what she expected to see, she saw confusion. His brows were furrowed and he even dared to shake his head slightly.

Her anguish quickly turned to anger. She shoved him off of her and he stumbled back. Lily didn't think Peter Pan had ever stumbled in his life.

"Lily I didn't... I would never–"

"I should have known you'd opt for denial. God knows Peter Pan could never admit fault, right? I know what I saw Peter, I know what I heard." She stepped forward, but this time with menacing fury. "I know exactly what made me run that night, and it wasn't fear, or betrayal. It was you."

He looked as if she had punched him. Good, her words had made the right impact then.

She didn't give it a second thought. She simply turned and stormed away, leaving him standing alone, a newly formed gash bleeding from his heart.

(Disclaimer: idk if the name for Pan's shadow that I used, Ordjo, came from the series or from another fanfic I read. I've read enough to wear I can't find it if it was from a fic. If this is the case, I'm not trying to steal it I just can't find the fic to credit. Anyway, angsty chapter, hope y'all enjoyed it!)
