Lily Potter nee Evens could be heard cursing her husband throughout the entire hall. She had arrived earlier that night when her water broke and the twins were on their way! Lily tightly squeezed her husband's hand in pain but he didn't dare utter a word over how much his hand hurt. Several of their friends waited anxiously out in the hall, known as the other three Marauders when a small cry reached their ears. James's happy voice cried out, "It's a boy! It's a boy!" but grew quietly with a yelp as Lily began to scream and push again as she squeezed the life out of his hand. With a final scream and curse yelled at James for doing this to her, a smaller baby compared to the first was fully pushed out. This time it was a girl and she let out a small coo as she opened her eyes.

She was in James's arms as they opened and revealed eyes even brighter than her mothers. They were so bright that while her mother used to be compared to emeralds, Lily was now more like Jades while their daughter's eyes held the emeralds. They were breathtaking and James smiled breathlessly at his little one's beauty. "She has your eyes Lilyflower!" He whispered as he placed his daughter into his wife's awaiting arms. "Iris," Lily said, "her name will be Iris." The nurse walked up with the first born twin, a boy, and handed him to James. "What about this one, what will his name be?" The baby snuggled in the nurse's arms but quieted down as he saw his father looked down at him. "We will name him Ivan!" James said proudly before making faces at Ivan as Lily refused to let him name their child James jr or Jamie.

James walked out to greet his friends with Ivan in his arms and they all began to congratulate him. "Come on in," he insisted, wanting them all to meet his little girl as well. Sirius practically ran in as Remus followed behind with a fond shake of his head. Peter scurried after them as James reentering behind him. Lily greeted them all with a tired smile as she cradled Iris in her arms. Being the second twin, she was smaller so her mother naturally worried about her but the nurse insisted she will be okay. "Peter come meet your goddaughter, Iris Lilian Potter."

Peter looked at her in shock and tried to talk her out of it as Sirius and Remus were closer to them but neither Potter would hear of it. "Pete we trust you to take care of our little girl. Lily insists Snape be her godfather as well so I'm leaving it up to you to teach her all our tricks and pranks from over the years." James joked. Peter just laughed as Lily hands Iris over to reprimand James and smiles at her. He ignored their love filled bickering and instead focused on the tiny bundle in his arms. He loved her eyes and swept away a piece of her little string of raven colored hair from her face.

"Anyways," James started in a attempt to divert his wife's anger away, "Sirius, Remus, we want you two to be Ivan James Potter's godfathers. Remus I wanted to make you Iris's godfather but wherever Sirius is, you aren't too far behind so..." He ended his sentence with a shrug and ignored Remus's protests. "Moony, furry little problem or not, it is only once a month and you would never intentionally hurt Iris or Ivan. I doubt your wolf would attack someone you consider a cub of your pack anyways!" Remus sighed and cried happy tears as James handed the tiny bundle into his arms. While Iris had her mother's eyes, Ivan had his fathers. They were a light hazel color and he would most likely gain the Potter's untamable hair as well. It was around the same color of his father's hair as well but had a hint of ginger from his mother.

Sooner rather than later, exhaustion hits Lily and the twins and the three visiting men go to their various homes. Once all healed up, James takes his family back to the Potter manor in the very early morning. Having wanted their genders to be a surprise, he sets his children in their dark, wooden cribs and forest themed room. With his animagus being a stag, and Lily's patronus a doe, they felt a forest for their little fauns or pronglsletts would be best. The gender neutral room worked out for the best as they knew they were having twins and ended up with one of each gender. With a simple wave of his wand, James added his children's names to their cribs and sat them down carefully as to not wake them up.

He grabs a few toys from the toy chest in the corner and hands the stag to Iris and doe to Ivan. Even though he had wanted a boy and Lily a girl, he could already tell Iris was a daddy's girl and Ivan a momma's boy. He placed a dog and wolf plush with Ivan too to represent his godfathers and gave Iris a little mouse plush for Peter. He charmed the mobile above the cribs to move and watched the tiny animals move around with it. He clicked the door closed with a sigh and happily slid into bed with his sleeping wife. With a kiss to her head, he quickly fell asleep with a smile on his face.

Having the next month off work to care for his wife and children, James loves every minute he has watching his children growing up. As the twins grow, Iris's hair remains a raven color and fall into beautiful little ringlets and curls throughout her entire head. It is a very messy style but she manages to look adorable regardless. Ivan received the Potter's curse of messy hair as well but just looks like a ball of trouble. His hair flies in every direction and he hates having his hair combed so it remains a mess at almost all times. The ginger in his hair became more obvious as well with a dark ginger or auburn color to it.

Sirius visits almost every day after work with James and Remus stops by as often as he can as well. They spoil their godson constantly but Lily nearly attempted murder on Sirius when he tried to give Ivan a broom as a one month old baby. Peter visits a lot too, but didn't spoil Iris like Ivan is. He merely loves on her and makes her giggle whenever he plays with her. Iris is an extremely well behaved baby but Ivan's constant spoiling soon makes him difficult to handle. Ivan loves attention and Peter is the only one that won't stop whatever they are doing with Iris to calm him down. Peter knows Severus would probably love on Iris as well but he isn't sure if the man even knows he has a goddaughter. It is clear who the favorite child is but Peter isn't going to let that stop him from always loving Iris any less.

Peter knows little Iris is special, he can feel it in her magic, regardless of his own magic only being average. She is already quite gifted and he has seen her squint really hard at toys she wants and it will tumble across the floor slowly to her side. He always praises her and tickles her to make her giggle, which is music to his ears. Her laughter is one of the main things that would bring everyone's attention to her and smile but Ivan always quickly follows with a cry to regain their attention solely onto him. Peter hates this as all children are supposed to be treasured equally and this is true for those of the dark side but the light seems to have forgotten that fact. Families like the Weasleys have too many children while the Lestranges can't have a single child and are told they didn't deserve one due to their darker nature. It isn't fair and Peter is happy to help his Lord change the world's ways for the better!
