I sat in the sofa observing the little girls on the floor.

'Chachu, let's play doctor patient.' spoke the older one as she jumped into my lap.

Bad idea, I should have sat in my room. That way I could have avoided this nuisance.

'Can we play later? I am tired.' I made an excuse.

'Please chachu.' was all she said before she started wailing loudly and the younger one stared at her for a while before she began crying too.

Ughhh I hate kids who cry!

'Ok I'll play.' I accepted my defeat.

'I love you chachu.' she immediately stopped crying and wiped the younger one's tears before kissing on her cheek who in response giggled.

She does look cute when she giggles, she surely inherited my genes.

'I am doctor sammy, she is nurse Vami and you are patient Aarav.'

'Why Aarav?' I asked.

'I am going to play school right, this boy irritates me so much that's why I made him the patient.' she began giggling profusely.

'This play mat is our hospital so you need to go from them and start walking while holding your stomach with two hands and act as if it's hurting you.' she instructed and I followed.

'A patient is coming. Nurse send him inside.' she enacted while Vamika just wiggled her hands in return and said 'ca-co- ca-' Maybe she was trying to say "come".

I went and sat on the mat infront of sammy.

'Oh no what happened?' she asked acting as if she's concerned.

'Aghh I can't bear this severe stomach pain.' I acted.

'Nurse Vami bring the injection.'

Vami handed her the pencil nearby and I for a moment feared that she might poke me with me.

But sammy lightly touched my skin with it and said, 'You will be alright soon. I'll write some medicines. You need to eat four gems after breakfast and two Oreo after lunch and One five star after dinner for five days and then you will be alright.' she stated.

'Thank you so much doctor. Can I leave now?'

'Yes but you need to pay the bill. It's three kisses to me and three kisses to Vami.' she said.

'Ofcourse I'm gonna pay the bill.' I smiled before kissing both the girls.

'Pa- pa - pa.' Vami started babbling as she tried wrapping her tiny arms around my neck as I took her into my hands to kiss her.

'Chachu why is she not saying sammy? Does she not love me?' sammy who was so happy until then had become teary eyed.

'Not like that sammy, she's a baby right. Babies first learn to say mumma and papa and then learn other words. She loves you so much that's why she's always around you right.' I explained as I took her into my arms as well.

'I love Vami so much chachu, I love you too and also chachi. I love you all so much.' she kissed my cheeku before hugging me tightly.

Vami dozed off into sleep as I kept patting on her back and I made her sleep in her cradle.

'Can you make her sleep on the bed, I want to sleep next to her?' asked sammy and how could I say no.

'Chachu please stay with us, I like it so much when you are next to me.' she pleaded as I was about to leave the bedroom after putting them to sleep.

Vami too began kicking her legs in the air as a response to sammy and stopped doing so as I slept in between them.

I was touched by the love these little munchkins was showering upon me.

Maybe being a father wasn't that bad as I think it is.

I didn't know I too dozed off until I heard his voice.

'You were sleeping? Sorry I didn't see.' he said after patting me and waking me up.

God, he was back. And who on earth can't figure out that a person is sleeping?

'No stay for a moment in that position, I'll click a picture.' Ritika stopped me from getting up from the bed and pulled out her phone.

'I'll join them too, click a picture.' Ro said excitedly as he jumped next to.

Why is he so interested to sleep next to me?

Am I overthinking or is it what I think it is?

'Smile Vi, why are you frowning?' he asked and I immediately put on a smile.

'I'm back home.' Anushka announced from the main door and thank God I could get out from the bed due to the interruption.

'Vi, tell me you love me.' she demanded as soon as she saw me.

'I love you.' it felt so odd to say those words, especially when I didn't mean them and also because I was in love with Jenny.

'I brought you your favourite food.' she said proudly.

And the mention of food made my mood hundred times better.

'You bought chole bhature?' I asked excitedly.

'No, today's not your cheat day. Why would I bring that?' she asked as if she wasn't expecting that answer.

'It has to be butter chicken then.' I said.

'You stopped eating non veg. Remember that?' she was perplexed.

I stopped eating what -

I love butter chicken more than my life, why will I stop eating it?

'What's wrong Vi? I'm seriously concerned seeing a change in your behaviour for the past few days.' she came closer and extending her arms to hug me.

Should I Let her or not?

Before I could even decide she already leaned in and embraced me, resting her head on my chest.

'Relax Nush, I was just joking. And please don't be stressed about anything, I'm alright.' I gently patted the back of her head to assure her and she tightened her grip around me.

Get off me woman, I belong to someone else.

As if she read my mind she got off me and flashed her wide smile again and said, ' I brought your favourite Arabian kego salad.'

What the hell is that?
