chapter specific terminology: (f/f/d) favorite fountain drink (sode/pop)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Halloween is coming up pretty soon, you think staring at the bubbles in your bath. It's been a long week and this bubble bath feels wonderful, but Halloween is coming up and you have no idea what you're going to do for it, if you'd do anything for it. You squish some of the bubbles in your hand, feeling the popping and spreading against your skin. Your mind wandered a little as you did so.
A ping alerts from your phone and you shake your hand before reaching over to grab it. It's a message from (c/n). 'Hey, how are you doing?' Shaking off your other hand you reply,
'Not much, just relaxing.'
'Oh nice. Hey, I was wondering if you're busy later today. I got a few tickets to go to this pumpkin patch/ corn maze thing. It seems cool and I'd like you to come.' You sit up straight excitedly. This sounds like a date! Was it a date?
'Sure! What time are you thinking?'
'Maybe around 6? It's getting dark out earlier now.'
'Sounds good, see you then!' You reach back over and set your phone down again before laying back again, the tips of your hair floating every which way in the bubbly water. Guess i should get out now, you think in glee.A couple hours later and your sitting near your door dressed and ready to go. (c/n) is supposed to pick you up any minute now. You can feel your stomach turning nervously, you've liked (c/n) for a while now and nothing has happened nor has (c/n) noticed your feelings. Now that he asked you on a actual date like activity you're wondering if he likes you too or if he just sees you as a friend. Friends go to pumpkin patches too.
Another ping rang from your phone pulling you from your thoughts and you look down at your phone to see a message from (c/n). 'I'm here at your place.' It says. You quickly stand and look out the window and sure enough there was their car.
Quickly you race outside and to the car, "Hey (y/n), you look nice! I love that sweater on you." They smile at you warmly and you can feel the butterflies in your stomach erupt again.
"Thanks, I like this one alot. It's really comfortable." You respond sliding into the seat beside them.
"Good to hear," they say taking off to the cornfield/ pumkin patch, "Have you eaten?"
"Oh not yet no." You look over at them and admire their (c/e/c) eyes. You can see the road and warmly colored trees in their eyes are they pass. You love those eyes, windows to (c/n)'s soul. Said eyes turn toward you suddenly, the look of waiting on an answer, shoot you didn't catch what they said.
"Sorry what was that?" You say sheepishly. They chuckle softly.
"I said that they have a food cart there that we could grab something from if you'd like."
"Oh, yeah that'd be great. Thanks and sorry. I got distracted." You slouch heavier in your seat looking forward out the windshield.
"It's okay," they smile, "what were you looking at?"
"Uh..." you pause, "the trees, the colors are all coming out nicely." Technically you weren't lying, the trees where reflecting in their eyes.
"Oh yeah, they sure are." The conversation seemed to come to an end and the car ride held a comfortable quiet till just before arriving. "There it is. After some food do you want to go to the corn maze first?"
"Sure, probably better to get that done before it gets dark and cold." You say looking over at the sun not to far above the horizon. After pulling into a parking space, you both make your way to the entrance where they hand the tickets they had to the employee. After putting a paper band around both of your wrists you follow (c/n) over to the concessions stand.
