Hello hello readers, it's been a while again but here we are with another part. I'm sorry I'm so inconsistent with updates, Adhd and my other mental health struggles make it difficult to keep up with my writing. Plus having a kid doesn't help. ANYWAYS...
Since I didn't get any comments on the story yet I'm going to continue the previous chapters writing format. If you'd like any changes to the format or have a chapter request/idea please comment and I'll try to get to you!
This chapter is another young adult chapter, you live with your crush and both work hard to live a happy life together.

Hope you enjoy!

Male Crush

'What a long day...' I sigh inwardly. The intense red light in front of me glared down into my eyes as I rested my head back onto the head rest, my neck craning backward uncomfortably a bit. My mind as blank as it could be waited for the light to change to green so I could continue my drive home.

(C/n) was waiting for me at home. Home being our small one-bedroom apartment. Despite the both of us having a job, bills were always tight. We always try to save what we can when we can but it's usually not much. I want (c/n) to ask me to be his valentine, but I know I can't expect much with our finances the way they are.

Finally, the light turned green, and I continued my way home. Maybe I should ask him to be my valentine... I'm pretty creative, I could probably put something nice together. (c/n) isn't always the most creative with these kinds of things but I appreciate the efforts anyways. Maybe I should switch it up and surprise him this year. I think he would really like that.

I pull into a parking space and step out of the car into the surprisingly cold February air. Locking the car I see the red lights of my car reflect off the wet road. Holding my belongings close to my body I head over to our apartment door.

Is that music coming from our place or the neighbors? I wonder, shoving the key into the lock. Turning it I push the door open and walk inside hearing one of my favorite love songs playing in the bedroom, the song much clearer now than from outside.

"Hey babe I'm home. Traffic was pretty bad today." I call out setting my things down on the counter. I hear some shuffling in our bedroom and make my way to it. Pushing the door open, I'm met with a surprise.

There were a few heart balloons floating on the ceiling and our cheap color changing light was turned red. Some rose petals were spread on the bed laid in the shape of hearts. (C/n) sat on the edge a few items in his hand, my eyes didn't linger on those long though, quickly flying up to meet (c/n)'s eyes.

"Oh my..." my words trailed off not knowing what to say. I did not see this coming at all.

"Hey sweetie, will you be my valentine?" He pushed his hands towards me, and my eyes fell once more to the items he held, this time actually focusing on what they are. There was my favorite chocolate, a mesh bag of kisses, and a small plastic looking bouquet of flowers. I stepped toward him, and he stood to meet me.

"Of course, baby!" I smile brightly as we both hugged one another. "When did you plan all this and where did this come from?" I asked taking the tiny bouquet of flowers from him, examining the small works of art. They were so cute!

"Everything is from the dollar store. We can't really afford much else, but this..." He trailed off reaching behind him, "was free." He pulled his hand back in front of me and in his hand was a letter, my name scrawled onto the front of the off-white envelope. Curiosity piqued and I reached for it.
