Chapter 2 || New Home.

After receiving Xiangling's directions,you went to this so-called "Wangshu Inn".
*Hmm,this should be it,righ-* your thought were interrupted as your vision went blank.

"...we got her,boss."

"Great. Oh? She's waking up."

And so you did. Your eyes were slowly opening only to see yourself tied up with chains. In front of you was a blue haired man with sharp teeth and a mask covering his eyes.

"Huh...W-Who are you?"

"Oh,you needn't worry. I am but a doctor. I mean no...harm. Please,refer to me as Dottore." This so-called Dottore let out a questionable chuckle after swearing he's "harmless".

"Hmph. Let.Me.Go."

They all laughed at you. Too bad youre in a weakened state,if otherwise you could've wiped the floor with them.
Before you could try to untie yourself,a fast figure appeared in front of you and knocked everyone out.
The figure was a short man with black hair and teal strands, a white sleeveless shirt and a green tattoo on his left arm. He has an oni mask of black and green colors.
You stared at the mysterious lad in awe,impressed of his abilities. He removed his mask and lifted your chin to examine you.

"Are you injured?" He asked. The young man's voice was quite deep which made you a little flustered.
"N-No...just dizzy..." you said shyly. This man was really making you feel small and inferior.
Before you could say anything else,the black haired person lifted you in his arms,carrying you bridal style and bringing you back to the Inn.
During the whole thing,you were examining the boy's features. You seemed to be so caught up in his face that you even forgot that you were literally flying.
Once you arrived,you were put back down.

"Thank yo-" but the man disappeared.
"Oh."

"Heyy!!! Hello,are you perhaps the owner of this place?" you came panting at the blonde haired woman's desk.
"Yes,that's me. My name is Verr Goldet. Do you need anything?
"Yes,actually. I am a "traveler". The name's Y/N. I'd like to stay here for a while. And I also have a question."
"Oh,of course you can but obviously,that's gonna cost a bi-"
"TAKE MY MONEY." you said aggressively while grabbing some mora left in your pocket. You placed 1000 mora on the desk and Verr Goldet seemed satisfied.
"Okay,that should do. Now,what is your question?"
"Do you know anything about a short young man with black hair and teal strands?"
My question seemed to have shocked the woman. I wonder why.
"W-Wait...You have met him..?"
"Yeah?"
"Wow,you're a lucky one. Well,his name is Xiao. He's a powerful adeptus that has been visiting us very often but only staying on the roof."
"Xiao...I see. Thank you!" You said leaving in a rush.
*Hmm. Xiao...Roof...* you muttered to yourself then decided to check out the top of Wangshu Inn.

There he was,gazing upon the clouds. Once he caught me staring at him,Xiao disappeared. Welp,maybe next ti-
"What do you seek?" he said after unexpectedly appearing behind me.
"AHHH!!! Oh...You scared me! Anyway,I wanted to thank you for saving me earlier! But you disappeared so quickly..."
"No need to thank me. It's my job as an adeptus." He answered blantly right before leaving again.
*Sigh* "This man..."
