Somehow, like the planets naturally orbiting the sun, he and Louis slip into an inseparable bond over the next months. When Louis had dropped Harry back off after the industry party that fateful day, he had immediately felt like a lovesick fool. Pining pathetically over the other boy for a whole twenty-four hours was obviously the next natural move, and he laid out on his back deck, missing Louis' presence with everything he'd had.
It turned out he needn't have worried because it seemed Louis had felt the same too.
The other boy had driven to his house the very next night, with the shoddy excuse that he needed to see if Harry was treating his new vinyl with the utmost care. The two had immediately gotten tipsy off a bottle of expensive Chardonnay and danced around Harry's too-big living room to the entirety of Elton John's discography.
From that day on, Harry found that he didn't mind going to most industry gatherings, as long as Louis was tucked neatly in his side. The two almost always managed to steal a bottle of whatever was most accessible from the open bar, before finding a discreet spot where they would whisper and giggle behind their hands at the other naive starlets' attempts to constantly one-up each other.
In a way, it also worked out for Harry because Jeff finally seemed pleased with his participation. Louis had been booked for a residency at The Forum and suddenly he appeared back on Jeff's radar. The fact that he was just as A-List apparently didn't hurt either. Jeff had almost praised Harry for his recent networking, giving him whiplash from his opposite opinions on Louis.
Harry could care less about his manager's hot and cold treatment. He was just glad to have all the excuses in the world to be near Louis, and he intended to make use of every single one of them.
They're currently at a rollerblading birthday party hosted by Liam, packed onto the rink floor as they move idly to Night Fever, the disco lights casting shimmering spells all over the crowd.
The thing is while being Louis' friend has been fine and dandy, Harry can't help but wish they would delve into something more. It's hard to force his eyes to stop lingering on the flashes of the torso that Harry sees when Louis raises his arms, or the obscene curve of his ass when he bends over.
Tonight is more difficult than usual.
Louis is clad in a bright pink leotard that shows off his perfect golden complexion. He's paired it with lime green tights that hug his legs deliciously, and he has several strands of rainbow beads wound around his neck. Harry can see his willowy silhouette every time he surges forward on his turquoise and pink rollerblades, and it's doing considerable things to him.
The pulsing of the music paired with Louis' inadvertent sensuality is doing horrible things to Harry. He's surprised he hasn't tripped over his own two feet yet.
He's shaken out of his thoughts when Louis turns around to flash a beaming smile and shout something at him.
"What?" Harry shouts back, trying to decipher the words under the loud music.
"I said, we should go to the arcade," Louis shouts louder as he abruptly comes to a halt, Harry bumping into his backside. He has no choice but to grip Louis' hips so they don't fall over which sets Louis' ass right on his crotch. He hears a hitch from the other boy's mouth and allows himself to feel a glimmer of hope that maybe Louis has been feeling the exact same as him.
Suspended in time, he lets himself feel the firmness of Louis' behind pressed tightly against him. It would take nothing at all to roll his hips forward, but utilizing every last ounce of self-control, he detaches their bodies.
Louis fully turns around and it's then that Harry can see the faint blush atop his cheeks and a thin layer of glassiness that coats his big, blue eyes.
