CHAPTER 1

Love ? I don't believe in that word.

Others say that being in a relationship is an inspiration but it's not.. relationship is a distraction for me.

Some of my aunties said that i should just marry a man that is rich . I want to laugh at them .

"Come on ija don't be like that .. we all want to be married someday aren't we ? At saka baka tumanda ka ng dalaga niyan." Auntie eva said .

Some of my aunties laugh hysterically .

"Marriage is not on my mind right now auntie at saka po why would i marry a rich person when i am rich also." I said to her .

She looked at me .. I can see in her face that she was pissed about what i said .

"Excuse me po." I said as i left at our table .

Hindi ko kayang umupo pa sa upuan na iyon kasama sila . Sabi kasi ni mama na kausapin din daw namin ang mga auntie namin tapos ito naman si kuya basta - basta na lang umalis . Ayan tuloy kailangan ko makipag usap sa kanila .

I went to get some juice since ayaw ko ng bumalik dun sa table na yun .

It was my dad's birthday, some of his business friends niya ang nandito.

I don 't know that much when it comes to business . My kuya was the one who knows a lot about it.

Kumuha ako ng juice dahil nauuhaw na ako . I saw my brother talking to someone .

His eyes are brown and his wearing glasses. I could say that his height might be around 5 or 6 something like that. He's wearing a long-sleeved polo that is color sky blue and black pants. With his pointed nose and his eyes this guy is indeed handsome ..wait WHAT? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? Here are many things that each of us can do as individuals

Do i know him ? his face looks familiar to me. Do i know him somewhere?

I walked to my kuya and asked him,siyempre nacucurious din ako.

" Hey kuya .. can we talk ? " I asked.

" Yeah sure .. " He said .

The man looked at me .. He looks confused .

"Do you know that guy ? " I asked .

"Yeah .. His name is loryx, fern invited him..Why? " He asked . Friend ba siya ni kuya fern o baka assistant o di kaya driver ano ba yan kung ano-ano na naiisip ko. 

"Does dad know that kuya fern invited someone ? " I asked .

Not to be rude but it's my dad's birthday and I think my dad needs to know who were we inviting since it's his birthday after all. That's one of the things that my dad said to us, that whenever there's an event kailangan magpaalam muna sa kanya at kay mom kung sino ang iinvite namin para aware din sila.

"Yeah dad knows about it .. let 's go i'll introduce you to him. " He said as we both walked .

"Hey so this is my sister Zhailey ." My brother said .

"Oh nice to meet you i'm Loryx Ezeckiel Sarmiento a friend of fern." He said .

Ah friend pala...

"Nice to meet you also. " I said .

I excuse myself and went to Aila's table.Tumingin ako sa plaigid para hanapin si aila and that's when i saw her she's near from the dessert table agad akong pumunta dun para kausapin siya. Wala naman kasi akong alam pagdating sa pakikipagusap sa ibang tao lalo na yung mga friend ni dad kasi business ang most common na topic nila. Si Aila at si Saibell at saka si Jaqs ang kaibigan ko, pero ang bff ko talaga ever since nung bata pa ako ay sila  Aila at Saibell. Sayang nga at hindi nakapunta si saibell ngayon.

Pagdating ko sa table ay agad akong kinausap ni Aila . "Hoy sino yung guy na kausap ng kuya mo? Ang pogi huh ! siguro model yun.''tanong nito sa akin .

''Friend daw ni kuya Fern." I answered.

''Friend nung cousin ko! Bakit di sinabi sa akin ng kambing na yun.'' She said. Kumuha na lang ako ng macaroons habang siya ay panay ang daldal.

As i was eating some macaroons i took a glanced at Loryx, while i was looking at him everything just went slow-mo .

I can't stop my eyes from looking at him. Then the most stupid thing happened to me.I almost choked on the macaroons that I was eating. Gladly, Aila passed me a glass of water.

It's embarassing i know ..

"Subo kasi ng subo oh ano ka ngayon HAHAHAHA." Sabi nito sa akin habang tawa ng tawa.

I fixed myself and i looked at him once again. Why can't i just stop looking at him? Habang tumitingin ako sa kaniya ay may napansin akong lumapit sa kaniya na babae. Pamilyar ang itsura nito sa akin...and that's when it clicks me it was jaqs my friend at school . I invited her, pero bakit di niya ako hinanap. Diba dapat hanapin niya ako kasi ako yung naginvite sa kaniya and also to greet my dad a birthday as a sign of respect since si dad ko yung celebrant. Am i right or maybe i'm just overreacting?

Baka nga OA lang ako...

Jaqs is kind and a shyful person but , once you get to know her she will talk to you .But today I don't think jaqs is that shyful friend that i've known . I'm happy for her at nakikihalubilo na din siya sa ibang tao . 

Type ba ni Jaqs yung friend ni kuya fern? Mukha naman na bagay sila.

Nabobored na ako dito kaya nagpaalam na ako kay aila na lalabas muna ako ng venue to get some air .

Habang nagmamasid ako sa labas, i heard a footstep walking in my direction .

"Bored?" sabi ng lalaki na dumating at umupo sa tabi ko .

His holding a glass of champagne .

I looked at the guy that was talking .

"It was just you, i thought it was someone else." I said.

It was Raven a friend of mine.

"Thinking of someone else?" He ask while he raised one of his eyebrow and tilt his head .

"Nope .. just wanna get some fresh air." I
said .

"Really ? Thought you were thinking about one of you're kuya's new friend .. huh?"  He said while teasing me.

Sinasabi ko na nga ba aasarin ako ng hayop na ito. Bakit ko pa kasi ito sinama dito sa birthday party ni dad? Close kasi sila ni kuya kaya ininvite ko na din. Nakita niya kaya na tinititigan ko yung friend ni kuya fern? God if ever , nakakahiya!!!
