「Modern!AU」 Lazy Day
You lay down on your bed, [E/C] eyes blankly looking at the TV. What the hell am I watching? You thought absentmindedly as you continued to watch the bride's go loco; screaming about how their dresses aren't white enough, how their brows weren't on fleek... Well, anyways, the show's name was 'Bridezilla' or, at least, that's what you think it was. You were too lazy to check the name, even more so to reach for the TV remote which fell on the floor. That was, like, an arm's reach away, so you can't be bothered with it. It's too bad the remote didn't love you enough to magically stand up on its own and walk to your side.
Lethargically glancing at the wall clock, you checked the set of digits which indicated the current time. It's twelve in the afternoon. Lunch. You groaned out loud at the thought of standing up to make yourself a proper meal. Oh, how you wished you could just order Chinese, but nooo, you wasted all your money on buying "unnecessary" things, as your friends would like to call it, such as tickets and your cosplay of the character: [Anime Character] from the anime: [Anime Name], for the Anime Expo next Sunday. To you, anime was your way of life - an ongoing hobby that'll never cease to exist. They just don't understand how important it was to you. You, who worked at [Supermarket Name] as a clerk - a shitty job, in your opinion - from Monday to Friday at 6 A.M to 9 P.M (today's a Saturday). It was almost like a salvation to you in your dreary life.
You stood up, though reluctantly, and walked towards the kitchen. Your apartment was not big. In fact, it was very small, just enough to fit for one person - which is you. The cost for it each month was $500. It was sort of affordable, considering your current job pays $9.15 per hour, and since you worked a total of 15 hours each day from Monday to Friday, that means you get paid around $686 each week. It's barely enough if you include food, travel, and phone/internet expenses. Also, occasionally for your hobbies - which is really the real reason why you go bankrupt - but you somehow manage.
"Shit." You cursed at the empty refrigerator, slamming it shut. You just remembered that you didn't have any groceries in stock since you've always resorted into buying fast food or microwavable stuff. Another day without a meal, I guess. You thought with a mental sob. You absolutely loved food, so on days when you had to skip it, it brought you to tears - mentally, of course. You were too lazy to cry. Usually, you weren't this lazy - okay, maybe a little... Okay, fine, maybe a bit more than that; somewhere around 90% most of the time. But, that's not the point. Today, your laziness level is at its all time high - 99.99%. That was big for you because you've always kept it at a 90% or less. Always.
Seriously, you didn't even clean shit (not literally of course). Your whole apartment was a mess, as if someone had ransacked the whole place. You would normally clean it all up by the weekend, since a certain landlord of yours just keeps checking on your apartment to see if it's absolutely clean - weekends only though - even threatening you to do it, else he'd increase the amount you had to pay for the month by $100. And you certainly learned it the hard way when on one particular Saturday, much like today, he saw a bag of chips lying on the floor and you refused to clean it. Needless to say, you had to pay $600 for that month. He was not the type of person to jest, you've learned.
The door bell rang and you flinched in mild surprise. Speak of the devil, you thought, cursing to yourself quietly. You haven't cleaned the apartment, so you had no other to choice but to pretend that you were not home by first, turning off the TV, then running to the bathroom and locking it shut with lightning speed - as soundlessly as you can, of course. Even your laziness had to stop at the presence of your midget landlord.
"Please just go away. Pleasepleaseplease--" you chanted to yourself in a whisper, rocking your curled up body back and forth with crossed legs and fingers. Honestly, you just weren't in the mood today. Maybe it's because you've been stressed for the whole week about your stupid job, or because you're just having one of those random days in which you just feel really lazy for some reason. You don't really have a clue why, but you just hoped to God that the midget will somehow leave you alone - at least for today.
