Liam:

It was my first day at Uni and I was feeling excited yet nervous all at the same time. This was a semi big step in my life and it would determine what I would do later on in the future and one little mistake could change everything. Wouldn't you be scared too?

Of course this was my chance to be independent and free from my overprotective parents. I loved them but a guy needs a break from his mother breathing down his neck 24/7. It has been two days since my parents dropped me off at my new apartment and still, my mother doesn't fail to call me every morning and night to make sure I was okay and all in one piece. This morning was no different.

My phone rang once I woke as if she had a tracker on me and knew about all my movements but I didn't answer. It was harsh of me and I knew she only wanted to wish me good luck on my first day of class but I was already anxious enough. I didn't need my mom to give me a lesson about being safe and telling me all the possible things that could happen if I'm not. I also knew she would warn me about college boys and their true intentions with and I just didn't want to hear it.

She kept calling me and my roommate/best friend Niall, who told me to shut up because he was trying I sleep so I turned it off, knowing i'd get an earful of her when she called later in the evening.

Sighing, I got up and got in the shower, memorizing my schedule and anything I already knew from high school classes. But out of all my nervousness I couldn't remember much.

I stepped out of the shower and walked out with a towel around my waist. I was aware that Niall was out there and although he was gay as well, we don't look at each other in that way. We do have the occasional I'm-feeling-lonely-tonight thing where we cuddle but there are no feelings involved whatsoever. We've tried it but it didn't work out. He was a little too needy and apparently I didn't care enough.

I look at the clock and shake my head when I see him still sleeping. His first class started in less than an hour and at Niall's slow ass pace, he'd never show up and sleep the day away and blame me for not waking him up. He'd done it so many times before in high school and we didn't even live in the same neighborhood.

"Niall, wake up or you're gonna miss class," I say and shake his bare shoulder. He slapped my hand away and turned around snuggling further into his pillow and drooling even more. I scrunch my nose and sigh. I'd guess I'd have to do it the hard way.

"Niall! Someone stole our food!" He shot up and ran to the kitchen and checked the cabinets and fridge. When he realized I had lied, he only glared and walked past me towards the bathroom. "love you too!" I said when I heard him grumble and turn on the shower. He'll thank me later.

We were luckily on time to class with five minutes to spare. We would have been here earlier if Niall hadn't of wanted to stop at a coffee shop to buy a muffin they were having a special on even after he already had his breakfast and most of mine. Sometimes I worry about his appetite but then again I shouldn't complain cause we never have moldy food or have to throw any away. In other words, I took Niall's hunger as an advantage.

"Okay Ni. I'll see you at three alright? Meet me right here right after class, got it?" I ask fixing his hair and the strap of his satchel on his shoulder properly. He pushes my hands away and huffs, re-adjusting everything I fixed with a pout on his lips.

"God damnit Liam! I came all the way over here for so I can escape my mother! Not have my best friend replace her!" He says throwing his hands in the air in frustration. I give him a pointed look because his burst of anger don't faze me anymore and I promised his mother I'd take care of him. You don't want to see an angry Irish woman, believe me.
