EVERYTHING WAS AT peace. the coming of frost and cold winds settled down the area around the village. children no longer ran hither and thither in untamed glee. birds with their feathers ruffled from grooming soon stopped appearing, as though they had vanished.
everything was quiet, tranquil, noiseless. then came pure white snow, coating the place in a frigid blanket.
