I threw my head back and groaned in frustration as the elders went on and on about 'the future of the back' and 'my safety.' Nothin I hadn't heard a million times before.

"... that is why we have contacted the council. Their sending a warrior to protect you. One who has been around a long time."

I tuned back in just to hear Elder Van finish.

"Your WHAT?!" I exclaimed. "I don't need a baby sitter!"

"Obviously you do Breslin! This is WAR! Your the last alpha of a pure blood pack! He's a protector, been around for centuries."

"Agh!" I groaned knowing I was defeated. As much as I hated to admit it, there were people after me, and they wouldn't stop until I was dead. "Who is it?"

"You'll meet him tomorrow."

Brocks' P.O.V

I rubbed over my face as she got out of bed. What was her name again? Ashley? Amber? Megan? I can't remember.

"I'll call you?" She licked her lip in what was meant to be a seductive way.

My wolf scoffed at the thought, the first I've heard from him in a while.

"Or not. You knew this was a one time thing darling."

She whipped around and threw a shoe at me.

"You pig! You heartless user!"

I chuckled gently.

"Feel free to leave now."

I smirked and stepped into the shower as I heard her leave.

"Finally." My wolf growled. "I can't believe you."

"Shut up Devon. It's been centuries."

I ran my hand through my hair once again. I hated him sometimes but knew he was right. As a wolf he needed his mate, but we had been around a long time and she'd never came.

Just as I stepped out of the shower my phone went off.

"Brock O'Hurn."

"Warrior O' Hurn, it's a pleasure to hear your voice."

My eyes widened at the voice on the other end.

"C-councilman Rogers! Why are you calling me?"

The council never called anyone, especially me. No one did. I was alone and isolated on an Isle in Ireland except for a few whores I picked up in town now and then.

"We need you back in Warrior O'Hurn. The last of the Ansley alphas is in danger. We need you to guard and protect young Breslin."

Inside Devon stirred, the name sparking his interest for some reason.

"Why me?" I asked.

Everyone knew the Ansley family. They were the last of the pure alphas.

"Your our strongest. It's time to forget your past and fulfill your oath."

I sighed knowing he was right. As a warrior, no matter the time frame, I had to go where they needed me. So, it looked like after two centuries of isolation I was headed back to reality.
