Home. The very word can distill many different emotions in many different people. Feelings like comfort, happiness, and safety are a few that come to mind. But for those less fortunate, the word can also bring feelings like terror, hate, and sorrow.

But for Dante, he didn't know what to feel. Musutafu was home but not one he wanted to see again. It instilled the feeling of weakness in him and he hated that.

"A hero should be willing to risk everything to save others! I am a hero which means I can't run from danger!"

Words like those, despite such passion, would normally fall on deaf ears. But those words are also from a past long forgotten. Now, it was time to focus on the present.

"I'm gonna need a place to stay for a while before I do anything drastic." Dante said aloud, more as a reminder to himself than anything else.

All that could be done at the current moment was walk down the street and hope something catches the eye.

Dante surveyed each store and building as he passed until he noticed something. A building with a vacancy sign meaning he could possibly stay there.

The sign wasn't really a sign as much as it was a piece of paper with writing mentioning that a place to sleep. Dante didn't really care though because the sooner he could sleep, the sooner he could do literally anything else.

He entered the building and quickly made his way up to the room mentioned on the paper. Once he stood outside the door, he readied his fist to knock incase anybody was inside but before he could, the door blew off its hinges and hit Dante in the face.

He stood unmoved though as for the most part the door was blown to pieces and only a few decent-sized chunks hit him.

"I take it I should have read the paper a bit more." Dante grumbled before letting out a sigh. He knocked on the door frame in place of the door itself and continued into the apartment.

Inside the apartment was smoke and ash. Each wall was covered in a large amount of soot from what seemed to be previous explosions making the previously white walls dark grey and black.

He looked through the smoke the best he could before being drawn to the sound of coughing to his left. Out of a large amount of smoke came a young girl in typical mechanics clothing. Though what was different about her was her bright pink hair and patterned yellow irises. Without the large amount of soot that covered her face, she was a rather beautiful girl with well defined features.

"*cough* *cough* Hmm, what went wrong this time? I could have sworn my baby was ready." She spoke to no one in particular. It took a moment for her to even notice Dante standing in what was once a doorway.

His appearance was rather intimidating but she was none the bothered. "Oh, hello there! I didn't even notice you. Wow, are those actual tattoos or part of your quirk?"

She wasted no time in inspecting Dante up and down as if inspecting a new toy. "You're also quite tall aren't ya! Perfect for testing a few of my babies."

"Could you please stop? I'm only here for the offer of a place to stay but it appears I've gotten the wrong room. So, if you don't mind, I'll be on my now." He began to leave before stopped by the pinkette.

"Holdup! No, this is the right room. The room of the greatest inventor to have ever lived! I'm Mei Hatsume, nice to meet ya!" She spoke with enthusiasm as she stuck her hand out for a handshake.

"Charming personality with a nice ambition. Nice to meet you Hatsume, I'm Dante Thorn. Just call me Dante."

He returned the handshake with a slight smirk. She smiled at the compliment.

Once the handshake was over, Dante continued, "So, I imagine that If I was to stay here there would be some sort of stipulation that I must oblige to?"

The two moved to a set of chairs and sat down as if in a proper interview. Mei nods her head.

"Of course. If you stayed here the only thing I would ask you to do is to help me test out some babies."

"These babies you speak of, are you insinuating I am to harm children or is it a nickname for something?" Dante asked with curiosity.

Mei only giggled a little before responding, "Oh gee, um no. My babies are what I call my inventions."

Dante let out a small sigh of relief, "Good. Well, if that is all you wish, I wish a nice partnership between the two of us."

The two stand and shake hands once again. Mei shakes with much enthusiasm while Dante returns with a much more formal shake.

And with that settled, Dante is now officially roommates with Mei Hatsume for the time being.
