10. Us Magicians

"Well..."
"That's Diego one of Marcel's vampires" Nicolas said as he looked at the group of the kids.

"..." no one said anything until..
"Diego..?" Minho said as he stopped for a second and than started talking again
"Wow.. his parents sure did not like him very much or more like at all" he said as he was a bit annoyed

"Who knows" Niklaus said as he gave them the exact same look of what he said, he got up from the chair and started walking away, but not before whispering "It does not matter anyway because I clearly does not like him" as he rolled his eyes.

No one of them heard him except his little brother.. of course he would hear that.. he is a vampire after all, though Klaus has no internet in keeping it a secret, otherwise he should not have bloody said that.

Newt giggle a little bit before he got a massage, Newt immediately got ready in less then 5 minutes and took thing that he needed for his little magical trip and left the house right after but not before his friends asked questions and he answered then truthfully thought he said he will go alone this time since they can get hurt and it's very dangerous to be around.

Newt arrived to the location that was sent to him to the phone by no one other than his older brother-

He knocked on the door of the small apartment and waited a few seconds until he heard an answer "who is that?" The mysterious voice asked from inside the apartment, and so he answered back "it's Newt... my older brother Elijah told me to come here..."
As she hears him say that she opened her door for inviting him inside her small apartment. "So... your the brother who is half vampire and half witch.." she said but it sounded a little bit more like a question then a knowing... however it is the first time she sees his face.

As Newt got in the apartment he answered her question by "ahh yes that is me..." he stops for a moment before continuing what he has to say "So... my brother told me you are looking for someone to teach you some spells and how to control your power.." she replayed back with "yes, that's right!" "Well.. I guess we can start when ever your ready, I have the spell book with me" he said as he gave her a kind smile "don't worry we can start right away do you need me to prepare something before we start?"

"That everything we need, we can start now" Newt said as Davina answered back "ok, let's start" "I will cast a spell now on this rope and it will become tied, you're mission is to open it and make it come back to his normal shape which is like this" he said as he showed her the rope when he loose without being tied. Davina agreed but thought it was an easy test and they should start at more high level thought Newt told her that he is helping her control her power so he is testing her, he also told her that it won't be as easy as she thinks it will be.

Newt started saying the spell as he put his hands a little bit above the rope who is placed on the table at the moment- "funem erit ligatum nullo tempore" he said the spell one time only as the rope began to float and get tied by it self- without anyone touching it.

As the rope was tied completely he had 2 long edges at both sides, the rope shape was now a ball and not a straight line like before, it falls to Newt's hands as the spell was done. Newt gave the tied rope to Davina as he told her to try to untie it with a specific spell that supposed to make the rope come back to his original look.

Davina still thought it was an easy task since she has a lot of power in her hands the only thing she needed help with is controlling her powers.
Thought is was exactly the opposite of what she though it should be, it wasn't easy but very hard, this time it was already her 10th try.. and it didn't seem like there was any progress.
Davina continued saying the spell:
"solve et in mea potestate, redi ad figuram auream" and still, nothing happened.

Davina got tired of repeating the spell over and over again but since it didn't work out too well she decided to ask the older Vampire Witch to help her with magic spells and to make it actually work this time.

Newt responded to her with getting closer as he started talking and explaining what she need to do but a little more specifically, "Davina, you already know what you need to do right?"
"Yes, I need to untie this rope.." "yes that's it, I gave you the right spell to make it work, though no matter how many power and magic people have if the won't be able to concentrate they won't succeed.
Here is an example: we are in a middle of a fight and I used my magic on you to make you feel light headed.. it make you less to be able to continue fighting since there is something in your way what's makes me the stronger opponent, thought you can still fight of course and for that you need to forget about being light headed and focus on making your magic work on me if you want to win."

Davina started to understand what Newt in trying to tell her and right now this her fight against the rope and if she wants to win she needs to untie it.
That's also the moment that she remembers that he came here to show her how to control her powers it's still not a test and if she want to succeed she needs to concentrate and give her all so she can make it.

"Davina when we use magic, how do we use it?"
"What do you mean..?" She asked as she hoped to understand him because everything that is said here is to help her get stronger after all.
"When you use magic we don't necessarily have to touch the object or even sometimes look at it.. we can do magic without all those things.. we can use our minds and spells instead, they do it for us, so when you use magic you don't have to touch the object, even right now you don't have to touch the rope to succeed you need to do it in a way that is comfortable to you and it will bring you to use 100% of your power and not half of it or less but you max."

Davina finally gets everything, she will concentrate and do it in her own time, for now it's still training so she will take her time and start moving later in a faster steps, it was already late and Newt said that he needed to go back home however he left her the spells and the rope and told her to keep practicing even without him, she needs to untie and rope and tie it back again until she can do it with ease and the next time he comes they will learn new things.

"Hey Davina, if you need me just send me a massage in our witches way" he said as he gave her a smile and she gave back a smile but a knowing one.
They both said their goodbyes and parted ways, Davina continued with her spells while Newt just walked back home but not without coming across...
