Part 6

The next day Winona walked into the hospital after getting a ride from Jay.
Everyone told her that she didn't have to come in after yesterday but she wanted to.
She wanted a distraction as her dad was still in the hospital.
The surgery went great but he was stuck in the hospital for a week at most.
She walked to the front desktop to see what patients were at the hospital.
"I thought you weren't coming in," said Will.
"I want to be here.
I'll most likely be working in the maternity ward for most of the day though" she said.
"Winona you had a full on breakdown yesterday.
You shouldn't be here" Will said.
"I can do it" she said.
"I'm gonna call Jay and have him pick you up" he said.
"He gave me a ride," said Winona.
Will looked at her "You're so stubborn" he said.
"Will it's ok.
I'm needed here and know how to distract myself" she said before walking to a room.
"Goodmorning," she said as Ethan set up an IV bag.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
"Better.
Do you need any help?" she said.
"Can you pass me a dose of morphine?" said Ethan.
"Who's this?" said the patient.
"This is Nurse Halstead.
She will be helping me" said Ethan.
"This is Beth Miller.
She fell down the stairs and broke her left arm and ankle" said Ethan.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Beth," said Winona.
Winona passed Ethan the morphine.
"I bet Will didn't like you being here," said Ethan.
"Not in the slightest.
I understand it so im choosing not to fight with him" she said.
"Have you sent a referral for a cast?" she asked.
"No" he said.
She sent in a referral "Done" she said.
"My ankle hurts like hell can you do anything?" asked Beth.
"Let me take a look and we can go from there," she said.
Beth nodded before Winona pulled the blanket off her ankle.
"There's a small cut on the left side of her ankle," Winona said.
"I can clean it and bandage it while the morphine spreads," said Winona.
"Can you numb it?" Beth asked.
"If we use any other numbing drug it will make your condition worse," said Ethan.
Ethan looked at her as she sat at the end of the bed to clean and bandage Beth's ankle.
"What?" she asked.
"You have beautiful eyes," he said.
She looked at him and blushed before getting back to what she was doing.
She bit her lip as she focused.
She then stood up and looked at Ethan.
"Hey after your shift is done do you want to get dinner?" he asked.
She smiled before nodding.
Winona stood up "I'm going to check up on something.
If you need me just give me a shout" said Winona.
"Alright, have a good day if I don't see you before tonight," he said.
"You too," she said before walking to the front desk.
Jay and Will stood next to each other after Jay came to see their dad.
They both looked at Winona as she smiled before walking away.
"Yeah she's definitely in love," said Will.
"It's happy to see her so happy.
Maybe this isn't a bad thing Will not that I thought it was in the first place" said Jay.
"Yeah, I think your right," said Will.
