Marriage is the biggest decision that you make in your life. It is either happily ever after or happily never after. With the decision as big as this its hard to trust your self, so in my life I decided to trust the Almighty.
I had already messed it once in one of these decisions but gracious God, I hadnt reached the Alter as yet. Thank God a million times for that.
My daddy always said before he married my mother he fasted for 3 days to show him the right one. He expected me to do the same but not necessarily should it be the same way for everyone. What is necessary is that we trust him and depend on him to bring the one who God has ordained for us. When you do that trust me theres no way hes gonna fail you on that one. This doesn't mean that your marriage is always gonna be a bed of roses, you will have your own set of hard times and trials but end of the day it is just gonna bring both you and your love stronger and with better understanding.
Here's how I met my future husband and trusting in the Lord had just left me with joy unspeakable and with no regrets at all.
After everything that had happened in my life, I had lost hope in marriages, especially when all the marital relationships around you seem to be either ruined or in the verge of it.
I was praying fervently to show his purpose in my life. For all I knew I was thinking God's gonna direct me in the way of full time ministry but where there was a door I had no idea. I tried signing up with a couple of Christian NGO's for a start but No, there was no sign of anything coming my way.
In the meanwhile my aunt had been trying to talk to my parents about a marriage proposal for me which she was tried telling me 2 yrs ago (arrianged marriage - thats how it works in my country, not that we dont have love marriages here). But both my parents and me weren't ready for yet another heart break just as yet. No not again !!!
As says past some where in my heart the Spirt of God hinted me that his man is the man for you. I thought its my own imagination and prayed " If it is Your will Lord then gimme a sign, speak to my parents through Your holy Spirit for I will not utter a word". Believe it or not in the next 3 days my parents who were least interested started to convince me. I couldn't help but say "yes" whole heartedly.
When Christ does something in your life there's joy and peace. No confusion ! No doubts !
For the bible say in proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it."
Eph 3:20 say " Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us". This is what happens when he trust in him not partially but completely.
