Waking up to Waterparks blasting through my room was something I was used to first thing in the morning but this morning I didn't want to be pulled out of the only hour of sleep I managed to get. My head was pounding and I felt as though I was going to throw up a soon as my feet hit the floor. Walking to the bathroom I brushed my teeth and almost feel over multiple times. I looked in the mirror and saw a mess staring back at me. Skin as pale as a ghost, dark bags under my eyes and my hair sticking to my forehead was not a pretty sight. Mum knocked on the bathroom door to ask how long I would be. I shouted that I was just finishing up and opened the door.
"Oh sweetie, you look awful!" She exclaimed as soon as she saw me.
"And I feel it!" I replied back, trudging back to my room to get ready.
"Atti, sweetie, take the day off if you feel that bad. What do you have?" She asked and I went to the timetable I had next to my calendar.
"Um just biology but I was going to practise my song for the concert at lunch." I told her looking at the events on my calendar as well as the lessons written on my timetable.
"Honey, if you only have one lesson then I don't think you should go in. You can practise tomorrow." She said to me whilst taking my blazer out of my hands.
"Ok, but I'm going in tomorrow." I told her as she left the room.
"Only if you're better!" She called to me as she went to the phone to let the school know I wasn't going to be in. "Are you going to be ok on you're own cause everyone is working today?" She asked as she walked back into my room.
"Yeah I'll be fine, I'll probably just sleep and do some work anyway." I said to her as I picked up my phone to let Hope, Lydia and Nat that I wouldn't be in today. I was soon flooded with messages hoping I would get better soon and that I could copy the notes from biology off of one of them.
"Sweetie, I'm leaving if you need me call me and I'll be home by 6." I heard mum shout from downstairs. After shouting goodbye to each other I got back into bed and pulled the covers back up before going to sleep.I woke up again around 2 hours later, barely feeling any better than I did when I originally woke up. But I got out of bed and pulled myself downstairs to get a drink as I knew I needed to have a lot of fluids. After making my squash I returned to bed with it in my hand, Bucky trailing behind me. I got comfy in bed and Buck got comfy on the floor where he could watch over me. I picked my iPad up and decided to put on Hercules, one of my favourite movies of all time. Once that was done I picked up my phone to see if anyone had messaged. I saw messages from Nat, saying she hopes that I'm feeling a bit better and photos of her notes with some explanation of what they did in the lesson. I told I still felt like death but thanked her for the notes and the explanations, deciding that I was going to do it later or in a free tomorrow. I went off our chat to see if I had anymore messages and I saw Theo had sent me one this morning.
Theo:
Hey I hope you're feeling ok, I was gonna meet you in the car park but I heard your group say you weren't gonna be inMe to Theo:
Aw that's sweet of you 😂 I've been better tbh I feel like death to put it lightlyTheo:
Oh, I hope you feel better soon! But i have frees for the rest of the day so why don't I keep you company for the rest of the day?My heart fluttered at that, but I was a bit cautious since him and I have never been friends before these last few weeks and I don't know what changed. But my mind was too fuzzy right now to think about it and I just decided there was no harm and he was just being nice.
Me to Theo:
How kind of you to offer! But isn't it lunch? Surely you have something better to do then talk to me 😂😂As I waited for his reply I decided to get another drink, I stood up slowly and the blood rushed to my head. I staggered over to the wall and used it to steady my self before I could walk out my room and down the stairs. I picked up a bottle of lucozade, looked at the food we had but even the sight of it made my stomach flip so I decided just to take my lucozade and go back to bed. I returned to my room, happy to be laying down even though I had only been standing for a few minutes. It looked at my phone and saw a message from Theo.
