"The Holy Grail War. A holy ritual of the highest order, no the grandest order. It is a ritual between magi in an attempt to bring forth the miracle of the True Magic. In doing so, seven magi summon mythical heroes from the far reaches of the past and the unforeseeable future as familiars called Servants. Each Servant in their turn is summoned in a container best befitting their abilities; Saber, the hero of the sword. Archer, the hero of archery. Lancer, the hero of the lance. Rider, the hero of riding. Caster, the hero of magic. Assassin, the hero of Assassination. And finally Berserker, the hero of insanity. Each magi is blessed with three command spells, powerful seals of absolute obedience that proves they are the Master of the Servant. Both Master and Servant fight all six other Master Servant pairs and the pair surviving until the end gets to make a wish at the Holy Grail, a relic so powerful it is believed to contain the Savior's blood. To preserve the existence of mystery, it is of utmost importance that the war is kept a secret from the regular population."

"Well Master, about that."

"Please do tell me 'about that' if you would."

"I engaged in battle with Saber and I launched my Noble Phantasm as per your instructions were I to find myself in a situation of no escape, Master."

"The Church will have to clean up after your mess, I presume?"

"Yes Master, and I would like to give you my apologies."

"And Lancer, have you found out Saber's identity?"

"Yes Master, their true name is-"

Floating in the sky, a Master and their Servant looked down on the land of the city beneath their feet. The scenery depicted a park, a bright red bridge separating the modern and the classic parts of the city and a huge explosion. For you see, mere moments ago the floating Master's Servant launched their Noble Phantasm, that is the crystallization of a hero's power, on the church located kilometers away from them. Upon the usage of a Noble Phantasm, the opponent could learn the Servant's true name and it was for this reason the Master secretly followed the retreating Servant back to his Master to annihilate him before his Master could learn of their identity.

With the explosion gone, all that remains are ruins of an exploded church. On the ground lay the remains pitch black corpses, thin as if a skeleton and lifeless as if mana batteries. Pierced by a cross of the church, there stood the dying body of the enemy Master. Before him stood his Servant, Lancer, as his body slowly disappeared into nothingness.

"I'm sorry Master, I shouldn't have run. I should have just disobeyed your command spell if it meant your survival. Truly, I am sorry..."

And with that, the hero of the lance disappeared into nothingness. As if he never existed in the first place, where the attractive Servant stood mere moments ago, there stood nothing now.

Coughing blood as he breathed his final breath, Lancer's Master looked up to the sky. Raising his arms slightly, he painfully opened his bleeding mouth. "Rejoice Hero of Charity, for your sacrifice was not in vain." The Master's eyes suddenly light up red and then in the next instant it shot a beam of red light kilometers through the sky right toward where the other master floated.

"Huh?!" The enemy master barely evaded in their surprise and quickly made a run for it.

Lancer's former Master, however, grabbed the man-sized cross piercing his heart and tossed it aside. There was dark mud where his heart should've been. He raised his arm in the sky and manifested Vasavi Shakti, an enormous golden spear with a large black pink spearhead.

The Master's name was Kotomine Kirei and he had become a Pseudo-Servant with the abilities of Servant Karna.

"Ohho, how interesting." A knight fully clad in golden armour appeared besides Kirei. The knight emitted a feeling as if he knows he's above everyone and therefore rightfully owns everyone.

"Don't be foolish, this is a mere means to an end." As Kirei said so, a pair of golden armour manifested around his legs, arms and chest. Around his neck a cape of bruning pink fire manifested with two golden pointy plates on either side. Furthermore, while his body had started to heal, the bottom half of his body turned pitch black as if burned by the Sun God themself.

"Hahaha", the golden knight laughed. "I'll see how your tale ends."
