Dedicated to @SBritneyDGordon,a short chapter for an impatient girl lol
Delancey
Ignoring the pain of losing the bond between my family and I, I pushed my legs as fast as they would take me. Right now, I was a human against wolves, I was at a huge disadvantage for now. My senses were slowly coming back to me and if my calculations are correct (which I hope they are) the pack border is less than 30 minutes away from where I am now. I stopped and ran around in a loop for a good 3 minutes before continuing my run. This should throw them off my trail for a good few minutes at least. I stopped as the scent of pine cones reached by noes. Now, this should give me a good head start on those bastards.
Stooping down I rubbed the pinecone, leaves, and dirt all over my clothes and body. The Warriors will probably have an idea of what am doing and try to outsmart me, but the other wolves will be most likely clueless. The howl that I heard put a pep in my step as I Continued racing through the woods, the closer I got to the border the rockier the terrain became and the louder the rushing of water slapping against rocks sounded. Sharp stones dug into the soles of my feet leaving trails of blood for those bloodhounds to follow.
I hope it didn't come down to me being in a fight with them, my fighting skills were a bit rusty after ten years of just sitting on my ass. But luck wasn't on my side as per usual. I was thrown to the grown by an incoming wolf. Who also wore the masking scent of pine cones and leaves. I growled and pushed the heavy weight off me.
I took the hidden knife from my air and glared at the wolf baring its teeth at me. This piece of shit, standing in front of me like a boulder with teeth, was standing between me and my freedom. And no one is going to stop me from getting across that damn border and into no man's land.
He lunged at me and slid under him dragging the knife from his throat down to his underbelly. Blood and guts spilled on me in the process. I didn't wait around for more of them to come and bombard me. I stealth the knife and ran faster than I was.
Hello partner in crime
I almost froze and tripped as I heard the voice of my hope spurring me on to reach the border at inhumane speed.
You're still alive
That food that the stranger gave you, helped a lot, strangely enough since it had wolfsbane in it
Am just glad you're ok.
Same let's just get out here and across the border.
I couldn't agree more. I was already sick of being here. The moment I crossed the border of the Blood Moon Pack a roar of a pissy alpha who was about to start a fit rung through the forest. I am sorry for anyone who crosses his path from now on. But then again that is no longer my problem. I am a free woman with a new life ahead of her.
An: short chapter but I honestly didn't know what more to add to this part of the story.
