The morning has turned into night. The hot wind now is changed with a cool air night breeze.

There was a girl with a petite body walking in a bit of a hurry, entering his yard. The girl's tiny mouth let out a grunt with her face bent.

She cursed her carelessness for having been home so late.

"Shit! I shouldn't have accepted Kayla's offer to go to the cafe. If only I had turned it down. I wouldn't have come home this late. Papa will be furious and throw me out of the house this time." Grumbled the girl.

The girl stopped in her tracks when she arrived in front of the big door of her house.

The girl took a deep breath and began slowly opening the big door.

'I hope they're asleep.' thought the girl.

The girl, Stella, stepped into her house sneakily.

Stella took off her shoes so she wouldn't make a sound when she stepped. With slow steps and a few tiptoes, Stella continued her step toward the stairs.

Stella passed through the main room. She could see that if the light was off, it meant that her parents had fallen asleep.

The girl breathed a sigh of relief.

'I'm grateful.' Stella thought she would feel safe this time.

Click!

The sound of a light switch.

The main room's lights automatically turned on, causing Stella to stop in her tracks, slightly surprised.

Throb!

Stella's heart throbbed violently, and she froze. The girl's condition was like that of a caught thief.

With a stiff and timid movement, Stella turned her head back.

Stella showed her idiotic smile when she saw that her papa and mama were behind her with angry looks mixed with worry from her mama and sharp sharpness from her father, the two of them were like a lion ready to pounce on its prey.

"Where have you been, brat? Home late at night, wandering off." asked papa Stella in a sharp and even tone.

Papa Stella, the figure of a middle-aged man, now standing with his hands on his hips, sharp eyes with a mustache above his lips, holds a frightening impression in Stella's eyes.

"Hehe ... I'm sorry, Papa .." Stella said, scratching the back of her neck, which didn't even itch.

Stella felt guilty and chose to lower her head to stare at her feet which were now only on her short socks.

Her left hand was still holding the shoe she had taken off earlier, and her right hand was twisting the hem of her shirt to divert her fear.

"Papa asked where you been to come home late at night. Not asking you to say sorry." Papa Stella said intimidatingly, asking for an answer from his daughter.

"Sorry, Stella just went to the cafe to do group work, papa .." Stella answered with slight fear.

Stella wasn't completely lying. She did go to a cafe, but not to do group work.

"What kind of tasks?" Papa Stella asked intimidatingly.

Stella gasped. Her naughty brain immediately thought of what she should answer, what she would say to come up with an answer that would fit.

"Yeah, it's a task. Papa, did you also go to college before? Didn't you know what to do? Ah, we made a research assignment at the cafe." Stella answered evasively.
