The Stream

Water tumbles down the stream bed

sparkling in the morning sun.

My ears soak comfort in the sound

that nature ever freely sung.

"So alive, so alive, start the tune, it's so alive."

Polished rocks shaped on the banks

glinting in the filtered light,

Learn-ed grasses grow around them

waiting not for notes to write.

"Can't stop now, can't stop now,

Sing the song, we can't stop now."

Rain comes down with torment's deluge;

Lightning splits the weary sky.

I can smell the cleansing coming

Washing 'way my self disguise.

"Make me whole with all control

to find the meaning of my soul."

Years of transformation made me

into who I am today.

Tears of calibration right me

out of balance disarray.

"I will go on, I will live on;

Legacy of life convey."

One day I'll complete my journey

when the last note fades away.

The stream will flow on, the rain will fall.

I'll remember living through it all.

The stream continues on and on and on...
