Halloween event

Draco looked up from his book as the library doors burst open. He could see a large box and a set of legs heading his way, chased by the librarian shushing the loud shuffling. When the box dropped down on the table he reserved next to him he raised his eyebrows.

"You know you're late. You're not going to have time to study." Draco complained. You pulled a face and dumped your bag on the table and fumbled through the bag, digging out a scroll and quill.

"I know I know. I got a package from my parents for Halloween. Do you do anything nice with your family for the holiday? We go a little overboard." You said and smiled. Draco was frowning at you. You had several paper decorations in one hand.

"Why on earth would you want to put up skeletons as decoration?" he asked. You frowned at him and opened the box, shoving a pack of appropriately festive sweets in his hand.

"You don't celebrate Halloween? But it's so much fun! You get to eat all the sweets you want and dress up as anything you want to." You said and smiled until he gave you a rather incredulous look.

"I could do that regardless of the day." His face softened when you looked disappointed and he opened the pack of sweets. You smiled as he scrunched up his face, the sour taste catching him by surprise. "Tell me about it. What do you do for your holiday?"

You smiled and while he helped you catch up with our studying you explained all the little traditions that had built up over the years.

"Well. Maybe I wish my family would do things like that." Draco said. He picked up the parcel from your family while you packed up and helped you carry it until your paths split ways as you went to your dorms.

You tried to focus on your studying. You really had been late for the library meeting. You had so much to go through. But despite that, you couldn't help but think about how upset Draco had looked. Absently you flicked your wand as you thought to yourself. When one of the paper skeletons hopped up and wiggled around your eyes went wide. You had a perfect idea.

The halls of Hogwarts were chaotic the next morning. On his way to get breakfast Draco found he could barely get through to the hall. "What's going on?"

"Flitch flipped his top." Someone said to Draco from among the crowd. Pushing his way to the front Draco saw familiar skeletons as well as tinsel with pumpkins and black cats with arched backs. Tiny pumpkins on stings ran along the walls as far as he could see. In fact when he looked around there were decorations everywhere. He couldn't help the smile that split his face.

"How do you think this happened?" Crabb asked as he shuffled over to Draco.

"A little witchcraft, I suspect." Draco answered. When he go to to the table a parcel was sent down the table. It was wrapped with white paper covered in pumpkins and purple sorting hats. When he opened the box he found it overflowing with an assortment of the sweets he'd caught a glance of in your care package. Looking around to see if he could spot you he found you watching from your house table. You gave him an eager wave but quickly quieted down when Filch hurtled through the hall, blinding and raving about the place being transacted by hooligans. Dumbledore had laughed and commended whoever had done it and with a wave of his wand versions of your decorations were everywhere. Filch went stiff as a board and later that evening, those who weren't in the hall at the time to know any better would whisper to each other about how he'd fainted.
