3rd Person POV (from now on, this entire book is going to stay in 3rd person POV, so I hope you guys don't get to under by this)
[This can't be happening!] Jonah thought while gripping onto his chest tightly and running his fingers through his already, slightly damp, brown locks. He was holding onto the table with his free arm to keep himself steady. He was doing this so is not to keep himself from falling onto the floor, which by now, he so desperately wanted to do.
It was 30 minutes before he, and some of his fellow co-workers could begin to pack up to start going home. He was sweating like a pig at this point, which caused his clothes to become a bit damp in the process, which, in the workplace, isn't all that professional.
He was trying to think of something positive to past the time and stop "the attack," but unfortunately, nothing really came to mind. A couple of minutes go by, and he slowly looks down at his already pink colored hands. He notices from the corner of his eye, a small silver wedding band that rested securely on his left hand, on the 2nd to last finger, next to the pinky, which intently got him thinking about home, amd the one, special person awaiting him their, his supportive and faithful wife, Buffy.
He starts to smile lightly, just thinking about her and how safe she makes him feel. Why, if it weren't for her, he wouldn't he standing here right, with the small piece of metal placed on his finger.
But to him, it wasn't just a small piece of metal, it was a promise and a vow that he had made to her, the day they got married, 3 years ago, gosh, how time flies. He slowly starts to breathe in-and-out normally again upon thinking about his beloved.
He starts to regain his sense of wholeness and sits down on the office chair that was by his desk. He looks around at his surroundings and notices a picture of her. She was posing in this photo, with her hands crossed at the sides, while smiling brightly.
Jonah smiles a bit more because of this and thinks [she has such a pertty smile].
He was so lost in thought that he didn't realize that people were beginning to leave, that is until one of his fellow co-workers snapped him out of his trance, by knocking on the cubby door, profusely.
"Jonah, are you there?" He said,"It's time for us to be heading home. "
Jonah turns around in his chair abruptly and looks up at the male, staring back at him. "Huh? I knew that," he says, in surprise, while rolling his eyes all-knowingly.
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
Jonah gets up from out of the black office chair and grabs his brown briefcase. He starts to make his way out of the small office cubby and passes the young man. Upon heading out, he checks his watch on his right wrist and quickly notices that it's past 6.
Once he realizes this new found information, he quietly swore under his breath. "Damn, I was supposed to be home 20 minutes ago.."
Jonah quickly lifts his head, to keep from looking at his small leather watch, and starts to make a run for it, pasting the remaining people there.
Once outside, he walks towards his car and unlocks the door, with help from some car keys. He slowly gets inside the vehicle and places his briefcase in the passenger's seat beside him.
"Well, time to get home to the Misses," he says to himself, almost whispering, while hearing the car engen roar loudly beneath his feet.
