Carter
Darkness. Darkness surrounds me. Wherever I look I see black, pitch black. It's hard to breath, the pain in my throat is piercing when I swallow.
"This is your home now, Carter" repeats over and over in my head. *splash* The sound of footsteps in puddles of blood echo down the hallway. I need to call for help, he's coming for me, i tell myself. I try to scream only to start choking on my own blood.
The door to the tiny room I'm in starts to make noises. I can hear the locks slowly turning, Knowing that in just a couple of seconds it could all be over, maybe he will kill me, I think. The thought of being dead instead of here brings me a sense of relief.
*click* the door opens. Rule 1: do not speak unless spoken to. I don't dare say a word, I've learned by now. The footsteps echo around the small jail like room. "Carter, carter, carter" says an all to familiar voice. "I've been thinking" he says. He quickly grabs my chin and jerks my head up. "Look into my eyes" he yells, I do. His green eyes pierce through mine. I don't dare look away. Rule 2: Eye contact must be made at all times.
"I've been thinking", he continues, " I think it's about time you meet him". The hope of ever escaping quickly fades. "it's your time. You're finally ready".
