Chyronex's POV

I had been attempting to keep Uleya out of the severest of punishments, I had fought against it – only to end up siding with Zarcar.

Something terrible had happened to Uleya's mind, her eyes were disoriented, her speech labored by heavy breaths, as sobbing completely overtook her whole body.

She kept begging us, telling us she was in love, and she had to go searching for the Lycan.

The only thing that got her resting was a sleeping potion, not even a spell.

She was now asleep in a safe dungeon, far away from demons, her head on a soft pillow, blankets keeping her warm, and multiple trusted guards on duty, including one member of the Venatores at all times.

Lix was taking the first shift, sitting inside the cell, reading a book with a lantern, happy to keep Uleya company.

Overall, the Venatores was relieved. The reason being is that my bad omen had seemed to unfold into something not so bad afterall.

Zarcar had done some research in his vast library of collected manuscripts and found a way to read about the purpose of this new kind of demon.

From a very old manuscript on 'Angel Killer' Lycans, we found out that Lycans had nothing to do with hunting us, but were designed to hunt and kill decomposing human souls; also called the rotted souls. In other words, those humans who lived solely for another's demise, with selfish ends. It was a tricky subject, and one hard to speculate on as a human... but as a demon born for the task, with the right nose – a wolf's nose... they had certain instincts none of us had.

So last night the Venatores celebrated that our peace was not over, that the devil had decided to leave us alone – generally.

The only downside was the absolute knowledge no more Dragons were being born. Therefore, no more Mystifyers to mate with them.

So Lixar and Zarcar were the last powerful dark sorceress, half Dragon-demon, half mortal.

I was the last Draconess and Andoll the last Dragon second to me.

Asmodeus was also seeing less and less Centaurs, and he had become quite depressed because of it. He reasoned his decision as a Prince to leave hell had caused the devil to forsake his entire species, and was stopping their production as well.

Of course, Vampires got a free break, however, since Rey was rather fond of the devil, even though they did not meet, he was the one constantly living like a downright fiend, only living for his lusts to be fulfilled, blood and sex. And it probably helped that Rey was making vampires now, producing them for the devil.

So, aside from lucky Rey and his Kind, our unconventional Venatores was the very last of its kind. We were specialist bad-demon hunters. It was us, and that was it. It was hard to know who would control the proliferation of the bad-demon kind when we were gone.

The resolution Zarcar and I came too was simple and it's why we found a reason to celebrate last night.

We just had to survive.

We were the last, so we would take our future seriously.

Last night, in that moment of realization that the only 'bad omen' was that we were the last of our legacy, we had somehow found peace once more.

Until I saw Gypsy burst into the Inn, running to my side crying, and asking for Asmodeus' immediate assistance.

That is how we found and saved Uleya from almost copulating with the Lycan. It's also how we found out there were eight of them, it wasn't just Onyx. Zarcar had suspected there would be more, from his own research into the subject of Lycans.
