We spent a long time waiting in the studio so that Abby could start pyramid. I think this whole thing was ridiculous, Abby was the one who was always on our backs about being on time for class, but she suddenly could be an hour late to her own show?

My mood had not improved since Saturday, especially since there were more articles broadcasting to the world the horrible situation that had happened in the recording studio and the entire thing with my mom. People were now either making fun of my singing, defending my voice, or begging for me to release the song.

It was exhausting to keep up with, so I didn't.

"So, I guess it's welcome back," Abby starts grimly after walking in like a wave of death. "New York City didn't turn out exactly the way I had hoped. Chloe, Kianna, congratulations, you two were the winners. You didn't only win for yourself; you won for the Abby Lee Dance Company. You won for my name, my reputation, so that was good."

"Thank you," Chloe replies just as gravely. I just nodded my head. Abby looked really depressed and upset right now, so it was better to just accept what she says rather than say the wrong thing and make her start yelling again.

"Uh, Holly, I know you were upset with me. I think you assumed that I was upset because Maddie ran off the stage. And you're absolutely right, and that's why I left."

To be honest, running off stage wasn't even the worst thing that could've happened to her. Maddie's only nine years old and she was overwhelmed, it only made sense that she would leave the stage.

"As their coach, as their teacher, they all deserve a hug," Holly scolds gently but firmly.  Not really, I know for sure that Nia was way more comfortable getting praise and comfort from her mom than she was with Abby.

We all have come to accept that Abby isn't going to comfort us, except Maddie. Maddie gets better treatment than I do, because I can count on my right hand how many times Abby has comforted me when I'm crying.

The answer is a big, whopping zero.

It doesn't bother me anymore, quite the contrary. I think all the time I've spent away from the studio in the past year, being in environments when I'm not one of the favorites has really opened my eyes to just how strange everyone is treated over here.

"Nia had you!" Abby yells. This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. "She went to you when she forgot her dance."

This was so pointless, none of us want to go to Abby when we're sad anyways, that's something we've agreed on a long time ago. "Why don't you be the adult and the leader and console them first?" Christi chides.

"You yelled at Paige and told her she was stupid, and when Maddie does it, it's it's okay, and it's not her fault," Kelly chimes in.

"I think the case in point is that we know you don't care-" Holly was cut off. "Some kids are just special," Abby snaps. "Enough, my time is very valuable. I did not call you in here to discuss this; we're talking about this."

Thank whoever it is watching over us that they were done arguing, I was starting to fall asleep in my spot. "You are going to the Nexstar competition in LA, and those little kids in LA are good, and you know that."

Why in the world would we go there after losing? LA is filled with kids who have amazing choreography, technique and acting. Now, I know I'm not the only one to think of it, but we aren't beating any group with the choreography Abby has been making us do lately.

It was lackluster; and with our average age putting us in the junior category, we are too old to be winning with cutesy dances.

"Starting the pyramid is Paige," Abby pulls the headshot off.
