Seeing as Layla couldn't convince the group not to go to the beach, but also couldn't convince Camillo to come with her, she was stuck in her room packing for the weekend while her friends laid around her room lazily, sometimes going through her stuff, which she hated, commenting on certain things and then going back to sitting around. 'god how did I get stuck with this group?' she thought.

Well, there was an obvious answer to that. She just chose the wrong people to befriend as a child, Camillo excluded of course. She smiled at the memories she made with him. Camillo had always been the more mischievous one between the two of them.

Her friends noticed her dazed state and asked if she was done, instantly snapping her out of her happy daydreams or going back to those days.

'well, time to suffer at the place where I die' Layla mumbled to herself, not catching the attention of anyone else in the group.

Now they're in the car

'We haven't even started the car and I already feel like something bad is going to happen... man, how on earth did I let them talk me into this?' she thought to herself as, she bit the inside of her lip, her eyes travelling to the clouds that were laid out in the sky, tracing over all of them as she identified all their shapes. 'this is going to be a long, and dare I say it, horrible drive.'

While the rest of the group chatted away, Layla still couldn't shake the bad feeling, that only seemed to be getting worse the closer they got to the beach. She took note that Emily had fallen asleep next to her, Katrina following right after. It had been at least half an hour since they left, the sun hadn't even begun to set and yet these two were out like lights. 'They would've been out for about...15 minutes? Right about now? Yep. And we still have another half an hour to go, yay for me' Layla thought to herself yet again. She felt Emily stir next to her, her face contorting into one of fear and confusion to anger, Layla swore she could hear a faint whimper leave Emily before she stopped. She was completely still for less than a minute before she woke up and shook violently, screaming as though she had been attacked, startling the entire group, causing Jonathan to turn around, missing the car that was headed towards them. "Jesus Emily! What the hell happened?!" he shouted, sounding more frustrated than concerned. He turned his head to face the road and as soon as he did so, the sound on a car horn was emitted from the on coming car. Jonathan froze for barely a second before swerving off the road, shouts and screams from everyone, as well as the song from the radio filled the air. The car didn't crash, much to everyone's relief but surprise.

Katrina had woken up from the scream, she sat frozen as she processed the information, gasping for air like she had just run a marathon.

"we *gasp* are never *gasp* letting Jonathan drive ever again..." she said, not meeting the eyes of anyone else due to her hair covering her own as she gripped the passenger seat, her newly painted nails leaving marks on the head rest.

"forget the driving, Emily? you alright?" Layla asked with a good amount of concern. "yeah Emily what the hell was that?!" Jonathan exclaimed, as though it was Emily's fault he couldn't focus on the road like he should've. "it's not like Emily knew she would cause a crash Jon!" Layla's voice rang loud and clear, her sticking up for her friend caused the brunette in question to cuddle closer to her. "I'm sorry..." she whimpered out, if only they could see her love-struck eyes while she huddled closer to Layla, basking in her warmth and intoxicated by her scent. She paid no mind to how the others blamed her for the near death experience, she was just happy Layla chose to stand up for her.

It wasn't long until Jonathan started the car again, driving in silence, much like the rest of the group, no one daring to say a word, in case it could lead to an argument.
