LILITH'S POV :
I felt like this moment could last for all of eternity. I finally felt safe , loved .
He pulls away from me . I look at up him .
"Matthew?" I whisper , still holding onto his shirt.
"I think I love you." He smiles at me .
He sounds unsure of what he's saying , almost hesitant. I don't want to say anything. I can't . Now my head is spinning and I can't decipher what's happening. Images flash in my head like a slideshow of memories.
I start to tip over. Not even a second passes before he's holding me.
"We need to go." He's picked me up without even asking if I care . He's not staring at me anymore.
Everything fades into black.MATTHEW'S POV :
I can't stop thinking about her ...
clove .
But I need to remind myself that she's not here right now and I have bigger things to deal with .
I'm now again holding her against me . She's unconscious. I think. My legs are completely numb , I'm freezing. But she seems to be okay . Her hair covers her neck and my blazer is loosely wrapped around her .
Wow. She is beautiful. But not as beautiful as Clove .
I've been walking for a while now only to realise that the glowing in the distance wasn't street lights .. it was a fire . We're back where we started .
"Matthew?" A deep voice calls out to me from behind. I go stiff . Mike.
"Been a while , hasn't it ?" He's walking towards me and Lilith . I can't let him see her.
"You can't keep burning down valuable homes."
I can't say anything, I need to.
