Thank you all so much for making it to the end. 

I started writing the concept of this story back in 2016 and I decided to share my work back in 2020. I have always had a fascination with the era of Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. I was inspired by my research on this time period that I've included some references in my story.

From my research, I've come up with a story of Ardith, a young Saxon girl living in the fictional village of Kendrick in East Anglia (this is a real place in England) who struggles to live in a world of despair and violence, has the determination to create change, and learns to fight to survive.

I feel Ardith resonates with me because she is a young woman who's struggling to find herself. In the beginning of the book, we see her as a seamstress apprentice and being told by society of how women should live, marry and bear children. Of course, that is not what Ardith wishes to do with her life. She had always wanted to explore the world like her merchant father. Or learn to fight like her brother, who is a soldier in the king's army. 

You will see she found the courage to fight when she saw her world crumble. She knew nobody was making a change, so she proposed for the king to allow townsfolks like her to fight. She got her wish, and you can see as the story progresses, she learns about her strength and capability as a soldier. 

The character Einar, a Viking Ardith encounters; holds some significance to this story. 
These two characters are vital to drive the story forward as they bring union between their nations, and they help each other become stronger, better people. 

Note, this book is the first part in a series. There will be another book, which explores Ardith's new life as a Viking and the challenges she will face. Then there will be a third book, which will conclude the story.

I will release these two books in 2023.
