That same day, Mr. Ogawa decided to take a trip to the nearest town, leaving Rasshu to fix up the garden and the battle area on her own. Looking at the landscape, she spots her sensei's katana on the ground with scratches and scuff marks on it. Picking up the blade, she continues her cleaning as she starts to haul away the debris scattered throughout the battlefield. Finally, after the backyard was cleaned up to her best ability, she went towards the shed-like house to tend to the katana. Cleaning the fragile blade, she shines the blade with some special oil from Mr. Ogawa's room, and then she proceeds to sharpen the katana, listening to the metallic screech. Placing the katana back on its wall mount, she brushes off her clothes as she unsheathes her own blade... Hearing the roughness of the chipped blade scraping the inside of the wooden sheath, she holds the blade in her hands as she looks at the blade longingly... Wemu... Each time Rasshu looks at this blade, she feels him watching over her... and with a warm smile, she sheaths it back into its wooden home.
Eventually, Mr. Ogawa comes back home carrying a long box on his back, and with Rasshu noticing, she jumps out from the porch to meet her sensei, offering to carry the large box itself. The sensei denies such an offer as he remarks that he's not THAT old so he can carry some silly old box! With Rasshu shrugging, she tells him about certain things she couldn't fix like the cut bamboo and the small craters left in the ground from the fight as the sensei waves it off. Now in the main room of the house, Mr. Ogawa calls on Rasshu to sit down and heed his next request for her, as she peers into the room to see her sensei sitting cross-legged on his floor seat. The pupil gently plops down in front of him as he takes out the long box, and placing it between them, he asks Rasshu to open it. She opens it, curious about the contents and as she feels around inside the box, she feels a smooth long but familiar structure... pulling it out, she uncovers a katana in a pure white sheath, but when she takes the blade out, it heavily resembles her own blade... it doesn't just resemble it... it is it... its the same type of blade that her broken one is...
Mr. Ogawa explains that he sold a few things so he could afford the katana as that type of katana isn't really made anymore. Her blade was derived from the dual-edged katana; a blade with two separate edges, one of nichirin ore and one made of steel... Rasshu looks at her sensei with angry eyes as she bashes him for buying her a katana that he could barely afford but the sensei hits her on the head with his signature wooden prop, angrily countering that if someone goes out of their way to get her a gift then she should be grateful! Not angry!?! As they both settle down, Mr. Ogawa regains his composure as he tells her the reason for this new sword... he cannot teach her any more lessons as he believes she is ready to take the final test... the test to survive 7 consecutive days in a demon-infested forest... and that broken katana of hers would put her in a severe disadvantage... Rasshu's eyes lower as she listens to her sensei's pleadings to rid of that broken sword but Rasshu refuses to throw away her broken blade... and he knows why... but regardless, she accepts his gift and ensures her that she will survive as she needs to live on to continue the breath of bravery... so finally Rasshu grabs the hilt of the new replica and with a warm glow, her fangs eliminate as the nichirin portion turns a burgundy red! Making it look exactly like how the broken blade was back in its prime!
Packing up her bag, Rasshu and Mr. Ogawa walk up to the entrance gate of his property as he laments for her to be safe. Feeling the sheer determination from Rasshu's spirit, she brashly states that he better be praying for those demons to be safe! Not her! Mr. Ogawa chuckles and nods his head slowly at Rasshu's claim, threatening that if she dies before him then he will kick her ass in the afterlife. And much to her delight, she smiles as she looks at the long road ahead of her!
But before she departs... Mr. Ogawa comes to Rasshu and wraps her mouth with bandages as he hides her unnatural fangs... Rasshu puts a hand on her face as her sensei makes her promise to hide her fangs from the public as it will surely cause problems and panic... disheartened by the words... she nods, understanding that it's probably for the best as she ties the bandages behind her head and neck firmly... departing from the humble shack, she waves at her sensei hopefully and happily as he waves back to another one of his students...
