My messenger bag was overflowing with all the unnecessary crap I really convinced myself I needed to bring.
'Do I really need 3 bottles of water? My metal water bottle is refillable anyway... but theres still a chance the water supply will cut off and I'll die on the clock from dehydration because I only brought 3 water bottles.'
I glanced back down at the seams holding the bag together for dear life. They were busting into halves.
'It's better to bring a fourth.'
I slipped another plastic bottle between the few containers of sunscreen and lotion, to the right of the bug spray, and to the left of the visors, and on top of a change of clothes.
Commotion bustled from across the hall. This could only mean one thing, so I braced myself.
Yamato fiercefully flung the door wide open. He was quickly followed by 4 others, who were all over each other holding small duffel bags and backpacks, having their own overlapping conversations, reaching over each other to apply sunscreen onto each others faces.
"Nico, come a little closer, I missed a spot!" Rock grunted, desperately trying to reach his face. Nico scooted over.
Uno struggling to braid the last of his hair kept between them. "Um, do you two mind?"
Their conversations clashed and quite literally ate my eardrums away I already felt like decaying on the scene. It's 9:00am.
"Number 99! Glad to see you seem ready! We should leave now! The other buildings are already settled at the site!" He laughed, standing in the doorframe in a heroic superhero pose. Though he didn't look like a super hero. He was wearing his twinky little zoo uniform; a button-down, short sleeved, with the fabric patterned as the Aurora Borealis, which was all tucked into a pair of navy cargo pants that were fastened with a fake snake skin belt.
His black knee high leather boots squeaked as he shuffled over to where I was having a cage fight with my messenger bag.
He snatched off his leather gloves and hovered over me and my bag.
"Woah there Numbed 99! 4 bottles of water? We don't live in the stone ages you silly goose! We have bottle refillers! GO EARTH FRIENDLY SUBSTITUTES! AHAHA!"
Does he not think I already thought about that?
